unless there is a bump in veteran minimum for guys after 10 years?? If so, thats probably why they are looking to get younger at the position.
did a quick search...the cutoff is seven years...minimum doesn't raise anymore after 7 years of exp. so it isnt for financial reasons

The guys that the Cardinals brought in are probably just to get eyes on potential replacements should Brewer go down with an injury in season.

That and not wear him down. Having one LS in camp is never a good idea.
