Yeah Budda doesn't need to lead the league in tackles again. That's something to watch.

If the DL is better, and man do I expect it will be, then it will be interesting. You can almost predict that people will say Budda is having a down year and falling off when it will really be a function of having a better DL so he doesn't end up playing at the LOS so much.

the beauty of the ongoing Kyler debate is that there is enough noise going on in his career that there is always a "but......."

of his six years, two are partial years as a result of an ACL tear.

of the other four: he had DHop at 1,400 in 2020, and then Kirk came close in 2021 with 982. Of those four years -- how many times did he have a top 32 NFL WR play a (nearly)** full season? One time -- DHop in 2020. I suppose Kirk if you count 2021 as the focus shifted to him after Dhop went down.

This isnt intended as a refutation, but rather pointing out that these kinds of things are really complicated when it comes to Kyler and the Cardinals

**with the 17 game season, lets call "nearly full" as 15 games.

All QB's had these kinds of situations over a 6 year span.

If having a better DL leads to Budda making some actual plays on the ball, I don't think anyone's going to complain. Second team all pro for a season with zero INTs, five passes defensed, and two sacks beggars belief, but here we are.

I know his run fits were pretty amazing.

I think people will say down year if his tackle stats fall off. He's not really ever shown he's a great pass defender it will be interesting.

Budda makes a ton of plays but the number of long runs we gave up last year because he picked the wrong gap or overran a play was pretty scary. We were so dependent on him in the run defense that it led to some huge runs when he guessed wrong. I hope that won't be a thing this year

For me this season the guys I;m really intrigued to see how much better they can be are D Rob, Rabbit and Trey Benson. Not sure yet who's going to play the guard spots, I guess Brown is a lock but not sure I trust Adams as the other guard.

Limited carries but the last 38 carries last year Benson was over 5.5 YPC and much more decisive. If we get a full year of that Trey Benson as a backup to Conner it'll really help us, save wear and tear on JC, even take some pressure of Kyler having to run as much

Gannon said some nice stuff about him so I guess he's going to be a star and take the starting RT job. That's how it works right?

The way it works is did reporter ask him about budding superstar first? If yes, nothing to see here. If no, then maybe we have something.

In this case, I thought oh cool, this must have been organic. Why would any reporter ask Paris Johnson about this Fryar guy? Then I click the link. Oh. He played RT at Ohio State.

thats not true

the QBs we want Kyler to be more like -- all have had a WR1 for most of the available games.

and when they havent -- see Mahomes without Tyreek Hill -- their passing stats have suffered materially. Mahomes hasnt "produced" a 1,000 wr since Hill departed, and he is beyond reproach when it comes to QB play.

Im not sure why "not having a true WR1 impacts a QBs passing performance" is up for much debate.

I thought it might be AI. There’s no avatar on the author’s page, and Is never heard of him before.

His twitter seems real, that’s just a hard freaking life to choose these days.

He's Donnie Druin's partner on the Cardinals SI podcast. I don't think I've seen him do articles though.

"Of the six undrafted players, Arizona signed following the draft, three of them in particular stand out to me, not only as players to pay attention to, but as players who could turn heads and earn a spot with this team."

That's first comma tho...

"...raining national champion Ohio State Buckeyes..."

Nevermind
EVEN IF I misspelled that, I wouldn't spell it that way. I wonder sometimes do people even proofread any more. I'm no grammar policeman, but the fact that he thought precipitation in the sky equated to entering a campaign as the defending champion is almost criminal.
