Curhan is the wildcard for me. Played RT with the Bears including 17 snap against us. Looked horrible.

Was forced to start at G due to injury. Looked decent in a couple of games - as in good enough to earn a roster spot (pff grade in high 60s = lower range average starter grade).

With him playing and training for G only, a better scheme fit here and the usual late bloomer for OL he could become a quality back-up or average starter.

Either way, coaching staff preferred him over Colon, who I think showed really good play for the 4th G on the roster.

I meant in terms of who could actually start. Curhan looks like he is just there for depth rn like you said.

I guess they are hoping he can regain some of his previous form from a few years ago.

If they have Conner backing up at LG then that guy Newman must really suck...Conner should be backing up RG at best...dude couldnt pass protect to save his grammy

What I'm looking for is if it would help him to practice and play at G exclusively instead of RT and G. If the better scheme fit will help. And if he follows the same development pattern of many OL where they do not reach their potential until 3rd year +.

If all of that happens he COULD develop into an average starter. Odds are still against it.

Was down with a severe flu last week and spend some of the time in isolation from the kids looking at some of his film. He had like two good games and you can see the scheme fit as he is good in space and on pulls. But he looked HORRIBLE at RT. He's the player giving up the safety to us in the Bears game - and giving it up to Ben Stille of all players.

I don't think there are going to be a ton more passing attempts to go around next season. I'd love to see Kyler's accuracy improve a little more so that he's catching more like 75% of his targets instead of 66%.
I seem to remember a lot of drops early in the season.
