There are also a couple shifts that they could make on the staff. Rodriguez has been a DL guy more than a OLB guy in his career. Their ILB coach has coached OLBs previously. You probably want some Rallis insurance for the upcoming years.

I am curious to see if Eberflus finds his way onto Gannon’s staff.
I'd rather see an offensive guru brought on staff to assist/mentor Petzing, especially someone proficient in the passion game.
That would be my number one priority if I'm JG, which I'm not.

The great thing is that you don’t have to pick one or the other. This would have nothing to do with adding an offensive anything.

Well, Gannon was on his staff in Indy as a DB coach. Eberflus has been a LB coach for multiple teams. Gannon has shared he likes his coaching style. Coaches like to surround themselves with guys they know and trust.
I don't think that's just coaches. :D

Ebberflus had one of the better “WTF is going on faces” I can remember a coach having.

I'm actually ok with him there. Not the clock management but I actually respect him for taking the fall for it instead of blaming the rookie QB. They could have helped Caleb there and they didn't, they let him sink or swim and he sank. So the coach then said he was ok with the clock management etc.

It was horrible but I was glad to see him protect his QB. I've seen some suggestion that it got him fired but I doubt that was it.

Kliff Kingsbury could be a candidate as he was Williams OC at USC.
I don't think KK wants any part of Caleb Williams. He turned down Chicago as OC this year to go to Washington. There were many rumblings at USC about Williams and his coachability.

I think the whole "We did it right" insistence got him fired. That's clearly not the case and he doesn't have to throw his QB under the bus to admit that. A simple "It's on me to call timeout there and I should have done it" would suffice. I mean, he probably would have been fired soon anyway, but this did him no favors.

spot on. Total failure as a franchise.
Apologies, just now getting in on the “fun” of Gang Green jettisoning R. Saleh last month, but I always think of the Jets thusly: 60 years of misery (plus a couple of years of Joe Namath at his peak). :p

IMHO, in the cases of both Saleh and Eberflus getting canned, they’re decent coaches who got swallowed up and spit out by bad organizations that are stuck in blaming coaches for their longtime poor performances. Just sayin’….

I for one have never seen you and JG in a room at the same time, so.....

Disagree. His accomplishments as an NFL coach outweigh his struggles as a HC.

Brandon Stanley was better and wasn't he one of Gannon’s closest friends and best man? Wasn't a whiff of him joining.

I'm not normally one for judging a coach on his last job, but Eberflus was so bad I don't want him near this team.

But most importantly we don't need him.
