I see that the Mercury lost and Brittney is back - - - with our worst "minus" on the score sheet (-25) with only 8 points.

And that Diana had zero assists. Skylar, of course, led -- with 6 -- and Hartley had 5 off the bench, in a team leading 28 minutes.

BC, I think you’re looking at the wrong game. We played the Mystics and Britney is definitely not back. Hartley got hurt in the 1st quarter and probably tore an ACL.

Oops, my bad. I thought the most recent game was at the top on the Mercury site.

I posted recently that Hartley is the heir apparent to
the 38-year old Diana Taurasi as leader of the Mercury.

I hope she is still with the team when Diana retires.

Today's (Sunday Aug. 30th) game is supposed to be televised on Fox Sports Arizona+,
but it is not. Hold on -- at 3:10 it suddenly appeared after the game had started!

The Mercury wins the 1st quarter over Minnesota 33-18.

Turner started at Center. The Mercury has only 8 players. And Griner is still out for
personal reasons. Maybe that's not a bad thing! But leaving the team with 8 players?!?

I don't know who the announcers are, even thought it is a Fox Sports Arizona telecast.
It might be the Minnesota announcers, which would explain the delay. The Mercury is
showing as the visiting team.

Tom Leander & Annie couldn't announce the game because
of technical difficulties, but they did half-time.

We're getting the "world feed" for play-by-play, per Tom.

The announcers just said that Vaughn and Turner at the power
positions for the Mercury "can do more than Griner".

Which is why I posted that we're better off without Brittney,
in terms of who helps the team more.

58-43 midway through the 3rd quarter. Diana has 3 fouls.

65-51 after three quarters. The Mercury seemed to let up
during the quarter. But, with only eight players available,
it's understandable.

There are times you need to pace yourself.

This is our game to win.

The lead is down to 5 nearing the half-way mark of the 4th quarter.

Then back up to 8 with a "3". I don't see Diana allowing us to lose
this game.

reason is often rehab. 'Just wondering if that's why Brittney
is MIA.

I've compared her to the Suns Deandre Ayton. If drugs is
Brittney's reason for lost time, it would be still another comparison.

I am wondering if it might be rehab too. I’m shocked that NOTHING has leaked about why she left. Very peculiar. Either way, I hope she is okay. On the positive side, Kia Vaughn and Turner have really stepped up their play since Griner has been out.
