I like eliminating the 40-man September rosters. And expanding the 25-man roster to 26.

But, why would MLB get involved in how many pitchers could be on a roster? What is the need?

That logistic is different for AL and NL teams as long as the NL still does not utilize the DH, which forces more pitching changes.
And the AL has one more "position" than the NL.

The logic is that having too many pitchers always too much tinkering. Pitching changes take a lot of time. Also, balancing the rosters between pitchers and position players

But would they do it differently for the AL-DH and the NL-non-DH?

Apparently the union didn't sign off on the three batter minimum - Manfred did that on his own, but union didn't contest it

Also - for pitchers, 15 day DL (no longer 10 day)

For Pitchers with options, 15 day minimum between call-ups.

Really no need to - still same roster limit even with DH.
I'll rephrase that. If MLB is going to dictate how many pitchers and "position" players must be on a roster, shouldn't they staff teams differently for each league? Until they add the DH to the NL.

The AL with its DH has nine regular hitters in the batting order every game and the NL has eight with rotating pitchers sharing the 9th spot. The lineup cards show nine players in the NL and ten in the AL (knowing that the pitcher will not bat).

I suppose the only justification is that a pinch hitter in the NL might be considered the same as a DH in the AL, but it is still not equitable. The AL DH is recruited and played as a regular. A NL pinch hitter occupying a similar roster spot is not.

Never did like the hyperanalytic aspect of the modern game that has managers going out and changing pitchers three times an inning, sometimes after just a pitch or two.
It will be harder to make changes knowing a pitcher has to stay in for at least three batters, but they'll adapt. It will be interesting to see how it melds in with the diminishment of mound visits possible. The likely outcome is that the time of games probably won't change, since any time savings will be absorbed by more offense because of fewer pitchers.

Keith Olbermann had a great idea - eliminate warm-up pitches for relievers (yes, a pitcher would get a few tosses before every inning, but that is a break time anyways).

The reliever is in the bullpen throwing already. Why does he need more throws?

Does the NFL allow a replacement QB some on the field tosses? Does a basketball sub get to shoot a few hoops when entering the game? No.

Just go to the mound and PITCH!

What happens if a pitcher fakes an injury?

What happened to the universal DH?

They would have to go on the 15 Day DL.

Universal DH probably won't happened until next CBA
