No...it's the concept of trying to limit exposure as much as possible. The further you are from someone, the less likely chance you'll contract something.

My understanding is the droplets can hang in the air for 2-3 hours. So it's not like you have to be coughed or sneezed on, just inhale in an area where a contagious per had coughed or sneezed within the last couple of hours. Add to that the fact that some surfaces can stay contaminated for a couple of days.

It's not about stopping the spread, just slowing it as to not overwhelm the medical industry and without any vaccines or treatments isolation is the best means we have of slowing the spread.

It seems to hinge on the stage of the infection. When symptoms go away a person seems less infectious. When someone sneezes or coughs, the farther away the better.

As far as I am concerned, I'd rather not get anywhere close to a person who might be infected. Too much is still unknown. Of course this is not always possible.

Yeah, the reports I’ve read say we’re out of this thing once 80% are infected and recover.

My best friend is an orthopedic surgeon out at Scottsdale Mayo and says he's being repurposed next week to the Medicine floor as all his cases have been canceled.

This is how described what was going on out there in text:

"Feels like we've been digging trenches for two weeks and now it's the middle of the night with crickets... waiting for the enemy to attack. Eerie."

I'll give y'all updates what it looks like inside a major hospital from a doctor on the front lines.

Hope he and the others there have the protective gear they need.

I have a new found respect for those in the medical fields that are going to be on the front lines for this .

Once enough people get it and recover they will no longer be able to transmit it to others. So the 30-60% who fail to get it will be protected by the fact that those around them can no longer pass it on.

It's briefly spoken about on this interview at roughly the 35-36 minute mark. Good interview over all.

People don't know how to wash their hands and they don't know to stop touching their face. The virus can live on surfaces for days, all it takes is an asymptomatic person with COVID19 to touch a door handle others use.

No idea why but in a thread on FB about the "real reason" there's no TP, someone said it causes diarrhea and then people one after another responded no it doesn't that's not true. So I posted yes it does, and someone asked for a link. the first one I found was on WebMD, that said nearly half of people who get it report gastro issues. and immediately I got a response from FB "your comment goes against our community standards on spam." Only you can see your post. Note the exact same content from CBS, the Hill etc it allowed me to post, but not from WebMD.

    No idea why.

I was listening to an expert talk about the coronavirus. He said the virus will mostly disappear this summer but it will be back in the fall, much worse than before, if this country doesn't continue to take it seriously and build up their defenses. It left me somewhat shaken.
