I guess Rojas has made Locastro expendable, and with Ray out, the need for an extra arm is very real.

Glad to see Crichton back up

Do we have anyone that can take over Flores spot?
Flores has been a backup 2B & 1B. He is a decent hitter, but has no power.

If Rojas continues to hit line drives as he has, he plays 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF & RF
and it was announced that he will rotate at those positions on a regular basis.

That makes Flores expendable in Torey's system. Especially with Escobar starting
at 2B as well as 3B. And Walker and Lamb taking turns at 1B. And Lamb at 3B
along with Escobar.

Whew! I think that covers it all. BB is going to have to get a larger scorecard. :)

He is a good backup 2B and actually gets starts against some LH pitchers.

And he is a (usually) light hitting backup 1B, which you don't plan for a corner infield position.

But, on this team, Marte & Escobar are ahead of him at 2B and Walker & Lamb are ahead of him at 1B.

And if Rojas proves to be Major League ready, with his ability to play six positions (including 2B & 1B),
it would be difficult to keep a roster spot for Flores on a long term basis.

Flores is basically a 2B (who can cover 1B in a pinch) and that doesn't fit in with Torey's MO of moving
players around. It was the same with Cron, who is a 1B, but has played some 3B in the past.

See ya Jon. Feels like we hardly get to know you.
Duplantier does not fill our need for a long reliever.
His Minor League success has come as a starter.

With the high ERA of some of our starters, I
would like to see Duplantier given a chance to
start some games for the D-backs.

But he has evidently been typecast as a long
reliever when called up and that's it. I wonder
who called that shot and seems bound to it.

Given the mess the rotation is, I am surprised he is not being given the chance to start.

I believe this is a Hazen thing at this point but I obviously have no idea how those conversations are going.

This desperate clinging to the wild card is going to not give guys like Duplantier an opportunity gain valuable experience and work through those growing pains.

Luckily we have Marte and Escobar to pick up his slack.

Sadly, it looks like Father Time has caught up with the Freight Train.

'Too much time on the side rail. Then trying to chug up the hill.

"I think I can, I think I can" is fading. Toot toot! :(
