I think the Saints are a better team than they are getting credit for. At this rate, the Jets/Saints/Raiders we counted as "wins" isn't looking so hot right now. Even with a healthy Giants team I wouldn't have expected a win on the road.

That Saints O will drop 35-40 on this D. Prob more by that point of the season when guys are mailing games in, having been eliminated from the playoffs probably a month earlier.

The Browns are now 3-1. Even they continue to prove my point that new coaching can and should make an instant difference.
Their GM has had an amazing two drafts and signed several players who are starting. The coach actually was able to bring in two coordinators when they hired him. This is what things can look like when your GM is active and can draft good players.

Hell, you can just look at this year and how he addressed the OL. The Browns GM drafted their starting LT in this year's draft. Signed Zion Johnson to a 3 year, 49.5 mil deal this season. Signed Elgton Jenkins to start at C this season. Re-signed Teven Jenins who was brought in last year to play RG. Traded for Tytus Howard to play RT this year. He also drafted a backup OT with a 3rd round pick. Monti hasn't been able to bring in this level of talent in 4 years.

That's not on coaching.

In two season the Browns have added DL of Jared Verse, Mason Graham, and Maliek Collins. If you add the contracts of Verse, Collins, and McGuire, their combined cap hit in 2026 is slightly more than Baron Browning cap hit in 2026.
Yeah but look at the capital used. It's not accurate to just point to salary cap space.

They traded a top five DE all time probably for Jared Verse and used a top five pick on Graham.

The biggest indictment on Monti is how much he's missed on day one and day two picks.

You can consistently miss on first and second round picks and build a good team. His best pick is a top 15ish LT, and the alternative was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. That move wouldn't look so bad if he basically whiffed on all the picks he acquired for moving off Anderson, but he basically has so far.

The Cardinals are getting out talented every week. They beat the Chargers because the Chargers might have a worse roster.

I mean it's gunna be a bit before we would swap coaches, so we have it for now, yes. We know for sure we don't have the GM, and we know this coach will be hampered with Monti.
We thought Gannon was the guy through the first season too. We have a coach, but I don’t know if we have the coach who will be the guy to take us to the playoffs

Not sure I was ever sold on Gannon, but 0 chance of succeeding with Monti and Kyler, especially since he's not good enough to overcome or by his own right.

Point is we need a new GM NOW, to see what we actually got with this coach. He will likely get another coach afterwards if need be. I'll give LF a pass this year, but I think so far it's been decent enough.

@Stout context clues. Read my post about the trade: I literally said the Cardinals traded the right to draft a Defensive Player of the Year candidate for a top fifteen OT and basically meh. That post directly proceeded the post you disagreed with.

Monti has had the ability to upgrade the front seven and basically whiffed and then he had refused to add more to the front seven.
