    What about the 13th Player?

Ross is a defensive specialist. They always try to match him against Nash when they play Phx. Right now, he's not playing for them; not sure whether he's hurt or just doesn't fit, now that they need so much offense from their swing spots. Either way, he'll be a free agent at the end of the year.

    Wizards demolishing Golden State

Wizards had a chance to tie at the end. I bet they wish they had that buzzer-beater from Phx back. ;)

Not any more, it isn't. :)

Shawn Marion. Man, myth, Miami, mothballs.

By the stats (and the statheads, Hollinger and the APBR crowd) Marion is one of the league's top ten players, and my understanding is that he bought into this. In a way, Marion's demands were bigger than Joe Johnson's--Joe wanted a bigger role, but Marion has always wanted top billing, ahead of...

    Wizards demolishing Golden State

Blatche is awesome. Dumb as dirt, supposedly, but awesome nonetheless. B-Diddy showed up after halftime. This is turning out to be a pretty good game.

    POP: gasol deal incomprehensible

Popovich vs. the Lakers? Hmm, tough call. Eh, Pop can go sit on a microphone. Never forget, Pop's legacy as the worst coach in the entire history of the Olympics will eventually overshadow every one of his so-called accomplishments in the NBA.

"Shaq's arrogance is an insult to people who think." - Bill Walton

I like Bill Walton well enough. He doesn't take himself seriously, which automatically puts him above 90% of NBA analysts. Shaq is definitely going to mouth off while he's here, and I'm sure he'll trash the Suns a few times on his way out, too. I'll enjoy the ride for now, though.

    What about the 13th Player?

I wouldn't mind getting Gelabale, either. I'm surprised there's been no mention of Quinton Ross.

    What about the 13th Player?

Wow, Bobby Jones is available too? He's another one of my favorites. I guess I just suck as an armchair GM.

    Wizards demolishing Golden State

Apparently, Washington built their lead in the first quarter, 37-22. Baron Davis is having one of his mail-it-in games. his +/- so far is -23.

    What about the 13th Player?

Khryapa would get PT for the Suns now that Marion's gone. IMO he's a bigger James Jones. I hope the team gave him a call before he boarded that plane back to Russia...

72-55 at halftime. Roger "wait, don't leave him open...OH GOD, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Mason with 21 points on 8-11 shooting.

Shaq trade - A Miami Heat fan perspective

Thanks for coming over, Heat fan. Any word on the draft picks?

    Trade exception?

As of right now, the Suns need one more player. They filled Marion's big-man minutes but his swingman minutes are empty. I guess we'll see now how much that championship is really worth...

    Stern on Bickley & MJ

Did he explain his decision not to suspend Bowen after game 2? Pretty obvious which way the wind was blowing after that.

Per ESPN: Shaq headed to PHX Wednesday for a physical

Dude, when Joe started the thread here, it was a done deal.

Per ESPN: Shaq headed to PHX Wednesday for a physical

Marion was done in Phoenix--it was pretty obvious to me just watching the games. The effort wasn't there anymore, and he's always been about effort. Plus, Dan Fegan was going to rake the Suns over the coals at the end of the year. Everybody who said the Suns couldn't win with their old...

    Eva: Tony Parker fakes injuries

It's not news to us, because we've seen enough Spurs games in the last few years to recognize the 'Popovich position', rolling around on the floor while your eyes track the nearest official. It's hilarious that 30-year-old Eva can't seem to keep her mouth shut, though. She's definitely from...

My friend just recieved a text stating Boris

I pointed out Boris yesterday as the guy Kerr was calling out with his evaluation comments. However, there's a big difference between spreading rumors and actually putting together a workable trade for a BYC player--almost as big a difference as the one between Sam Smith and a real NBA insider...

What's wrong with the Mavs/How good are the Spurs?

I looked up Nowitzki's numbers. FGA per game: 2005-6: 19.3 2006-7: 17.2 2007-8: 15.4 A strange trend for a player who's supposedly in the prime of his career.

    Boris Diaw is completely worthless.

That's great, but Banks' minutes are going to Nash, Barbosa, Raja and Grant Hill. I don't think any of those guys sees the extra PT as a suitable reward for his hard work.
  23. F-Dog

    Boris Diaw is completely worthless.

By the stats, Boris stepped up when the team needed him tonight. I wish he did it more often, but it's a good start.

    Kurt Thomas

As I explained in the post you quoted, no. I saw something entirely different. Relevance? Everybody knows what KT can do. Some of us also realize there are things he can't do.

What's wrong with the Mavs/How good are the Spurs?

Something is wrong with Nowitzki--he's lost his aggressiveness. He dominated Bowen two years ago.
