I wasn't sure where to post this, but I was just informed that longtime ASFN member earthsci (Ken Black) was just admitted to hospice today. Ken has had heart struggles for a while and sadly doesn't have much time left.
Ken is only 52 and his wife and daughter are understandably devastated...
Every match of the final weekend in the EPL will be televised in the US this Sunday on 9 Fox-owned stations plus ESPN2.
As most of you know, all matches of the final week are played at the same time to better prevent shenanigans. The matches start at 10:00 AM EDT.
There will also be...
Awesome movie! Really gets to the heart of the corruption and violence that plagues Brazilian society. Expertly directed, with a tour-de-force performance by Wagner Moura.
A real rollercoaster of an action film. It suffers a bit because I think the main character's motivations for his robberies could have been explored a bit more. His reasons are hinted at, but never fully explained.
I suppose that is because the real life Kastenberger was himself an enigma...
Such a good movie. One of the few films where the audience has NO idea in what direction the film is going to go. It takes off in directions that are completely unexpected, but not preposterous. Really outstanding.
First Moss and now Cox. SF is going for the title of All-Character Team in 2012.

Seems like a strange choice to represent the NFL in Europe considering the Rams' record the last 10 years. I guess the league thinks the Rams can sell out Wembley, they sure can't sell out their own stadium...

Deep Posts: The Steelers hate Todd Graham, too!
By Doug Farrar
If you thought former Pitt coach Todd Graham was a jackass for bailing for Arizona State in a way that would make Bobby Petrino wince, wait until you see what the Steelers thought of him.

I know it's early, but color me un-impressed so far. Both the Raiders and Packers have completed just about every pass thrown to his man. He just lays off and lets his man catch the ball in front of him.
He hasn't come close to making a big play. I thought he was supposed to be the most...
I really liked this movie. Low budget, but very well done, it is presented really more as a play.
It is a left-of-center romance that is by turns funny, goofy and sad. Unconventional to be sure, but well worth a look.
Another great edition in a long line of fantastic Korean crime thrillers. One critic said it best, "this film could only come from Korea, the land of a million stories of revenge."
Great action/fight sequences and crisply directed. Won and Kim have a great chemistry together as well. This...
An old man is found murdered in his basement flat. Inspector Erlendur and his crew don't have much to go by in the investigation, but a photograph of a young girl's grave gives them a lead. They discover that many years ago the victim was accused, though not convicted, of horrible crimes. Did...
Not a huge surprise. He's gonna be a great pro.

The third installment in Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy. The trilogy is really more like three distinct films that contain the same characters more than a continuous storyline spanning multiple movies.
In this one, Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist battle a secret government agency...
Ends a streak of 48 consecutive sell outs in San Diego. There are still about 12,000 tickets remaining to sell out the game against the Cardinals, as well.
Detroit was given an extension to sell out their home opener this weekend...
