OT: Former NFL star Richard Sherman’s bail set at $5,000 following arrest for suspicion of DUI

It feels like 2X DUI in 3 years = he does it all of the time. And if that is the case then I have to believe that alcohol is how he compensates for no longer being a "star." Any transition from a position of power/influence/importance to something "less" can be difficult to deal with. I hope...

    10 thoughts - Browns game

I’ve tried to learn to like DJ Humphries but wasn’t terribly surprised to see him get abused by Cleveland (they are good) nor to see an “injury” shortly after picking up a penalty. Big personality, big investment by Cards, but I’ll not be shocked to see Monti jettison him after the season. The...

    ESPN: The Cardinals workplace culture

Those of us whom deal with this every day (and I'm sure there are more than a few) hope that things will change but savvy leaders are often able to avoid getting pinned with egregious behavior (so they have zero incentive to change). Long laundry list: correct and even admirable policies are...

Cardinals Make Roster Change At Punter

I swear on the 62 yard FG that the announcers said the laces were facing the kicker. That plus crappy punts = gotta go.

Wk 1 Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Commanders Pre-Game Thread. 8/26/23-9/09/23

It absolutely crushes my soul but the USS Michael Monsoor (one of my ships) has a visit from the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) on opening day. So while I live in DC, I'll be underway in SOCAL for a Material Inspection. Ugghhhhh.... Football gods be with us.

Who will be in DC for the opener?

We live just south of DC off of the GW Parkway near Mt Vernon. My son and I agreed that if it wasn’t the opener we’d definitely go. Whenever the Cards make ot to Baltimore, Philly, Cleveland, or DC we normally go. Unfortunately one of my ships is going through a major inspection in San Diego...

Cardinals Flight Plan: Load1ng - Kyler Murray's Return

I find myself comparing my 21 year-old self with my 27 year-old self when I look at Kyler. Life gave me a few swift kicks in the gut as a young man - and I had to fight my way back. Things I had always taken for granted disappeared over-night and I had to earn my way back. In the end it all...

Cardinals Flight Plan: Behind the Seams

Absence of Budda was pretty huge. No D-hop either, but that wasn’t unusual. Hopefully we get happy all-pros soon!

    Nick Rallis Introductory Presser

O-6 eagles are the same way…beaks face forward. When people screw it up we say they are in battle dress…. Looking to peck anyone sneaking up on them

The “opposite facing logo” is the same on (at least) Navy uniforms. The flag worn on the right shoulder has the stars facing forward. It’s just something you don’t pay attention to unless someone comments on it. On my left it’s either POW MIA or “Don’t Tread on Me”

Stop putting the Payton on a pedestal

Need instant credibility and respect…. “Calm the F…. down” coming from Kyler to Kliff is not acceptable. IMHO QBs not named Brady or Rodgers need to respect their HC. I think Payton gets that with his pedigree.

Sean Payton acquisition timeline (looking for clarity)

Cool. That's kind of what I thought but it wasn't clear.

Sean Payton acquisition timeline (looking for clarity)

Happy new year all! I was curious (with Black Monday looming) at how quickly a team (other than New Orleans) might acquire Sean Payton as their coach in 2023-2024. According to NFL.com the timeline for trading in the new league year is as follows: March 15 Trading period for 2023. Trading...

    Sean Kugler Fired

Don’t know how many of you travel abroad regularly for work, but sometimes behavior like this is premeditated…. At least I have come to that conclusion in my line of work. Several years ago I was embarked on a ship that was doing a tour of South and Central America. It was a ship with a lot...

My Son’s Day Made Thanks to JJ Watt

Dave McGinnis was over-the-top too. He took my nephew for a golf cart ride after a training camp practice and gave the 7-year old his visor.

My Son’s Day Made Thanks to JJ Watt

Road games are definitely the best to get player attention. My son got a pair of Larry Legend’s gloves at Cleveland in 2018. And an autographed Pat P ball in DC in 2019. As a kid my brother and I would go to Cards games in the mid-west (Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Chicago) and got wrist bands...

    What City Are You In?

Dropped anchor in the DC area back in 2012. Have been bouncing between the Pentagon and the Washington Navy Yard these past 10 years. Been a solid decade since I've been around the team in AZ, but we catch road games all of the time (Cleveland, DC, Carolina, NJ, Philly, etc).

OT: Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs to be charged with DUI resulting in death

And another thing about my organization - there is precedent to prosecute under the UCMJ if you are riding in a vehicle with someone whom gets a DUI. Basically the same punishment can be levied on a person whom wasn’t even operating (judgement, accountability, etc)

OT: Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs to be charged with DUI resulting in death

The free rides thing is in most military commands too. If you are out and about and lose your wallet or run out of cash or whatever - we will get you home with no retribution. You may have to explain the situation to someone and work to pay back the taxi ride, but if you choose to roll the...

    Budda Baker has COVId

Yeah… as an active duty member I get no “option” to get vaccinated or not. Well other than the option of retiring. In 2002 I was vaccinated against anthrax and ended up losing the ability to produce insulin. It was like a 1 in 4 million chance - i won powerball that day.

    Wayyyy OT: COVID Vaccine experience

As an active duty member I had an opportunity to be a bit of a Guinea pig in early December for the Moderna vaccine. When I showed up to the Navy clinic we received about a 15 minute "briefing" on what the vaccine did/did not do, whom could get it, and what the reactions would likely be...

OT: Any of you go to this game?

So "Pat's Run" is on 24 April. While it is not in person (virtual this year) it still a great opportunity to remember Pat and to contribute to his legacy (in support of the foundation and scholarship fund). Plan to get at least 1 of my 3 kids to run with me this year. My avatar is a photo...

How long have you been a Cardinal fan?

1982....as a teen/pre-teen My brother and I would stay with grandma in Mattoon, Illinois and watch training camp at Eastern Illinois University (Charleston) when Lomax was the QB (circa 1984/1985). I remember Freddie Joe Nunn and Wolfley as rookies pretty well. Didn't make a single game in...
