This is correct. Hindsight is 20/20 but Monti made that trade thinking the Houston pick would be top ten. No different than the Bears pick they got from Carolina. Of course they got the #1 pick and we got "screwed". It's just the Cardinals way.
However, the thought process that we should have...
The sports facilities are the only thing that put Glendale on the map. In my years of living in Tempe prior to the stadiums, I never once thought about going to the Westside until the Coyote arena was built, followed by the Cards stadium.
Now as an out of towner, we hit up Westgate every time...
I feel like it would be good for us to package one of our two 5th round picks with one of our later 3rds to jump up into the back end of round 2. Having 2 1st's, 2 2nd's and 2 3rd's seems like a great spread.
Historically, it seems like the bust ratio in the 1st round QB’s is always about 50%. The question is, who will it be?
Just like 2018, Josh Allen and Lamar ended up being the cream of the crop. While Rosen, Darnold and Baker were not worthy.
Whatever makes you feel better. We all know the cap is bs. Every winning team knows how to work around the cap. Losing team mentality is to use the cap as an excuse.
Who? I know the interior DL guys are an unheralded bunch but the fact that I have never heard of any of them is a bit disappointing. I'm no expert but I consider myself fairly in the know on players and I don't know any of them.
We need a pass rusher, so I would be good with them doing something/anything. However, we should have identified this early on and just went after one of the better FA pass rushers instead of having to use draft capital. Guys like Hunter, Greenard, Young, etc...
Agree. We could have made a few more of these signings last year. Like Kyzir White. They would have had a year in the system and been able to hit ground running this year.
Agree with Card'em, I think they definitely need a starting caliber CB and DT in free agency.
Not sure we need a FA running back since we have Michael Carter to fill that role. Then I would like to draft a mid round RB with speed.
I agree. He is fools gold.
That being said, I hope Pitt signs him so I can laugh at all my Steeler friends. Just like I laughed at all the Denver fans here locally when they traded everything for him.
Totally agree. I have never liked him.
He is a great scrambling QB, I will give him that. But I have never seen such a lucky QB. I can't even count how many times he just threw a ball seemingly up for grabs after scrambling around and it would somehow come down in a Seattle players hands. It was...
Totally agree with this.
Last offseason, they should have brought in a few more young up and comers that could have learned in the system for a year and been ready to hit the ground running this year.
Instead they chose to take the season off because Kyler was injured to start.
If MHJ is on the board and they go for option 2 or 3 it would basically be the Adrian Peterson situation all over again. Passing up a sure fire stud to draft an OL just because you think you're smarter than everyone else in the room.
This was my initial thought as well. Now the good teams that may have been on the border with cap space will now have more money to entice FA's. Who's going to want to come here instead of a place like KC, SF, etc...
I never know how the numbers work.
In one of the posts yesterday, it said we had about 35mil effective cap space before this announcement. So did our effective cap space only go up 7mil, even though the cap went up 31mil?
Listen, I hope Wilson turns into a legit #2 or #3 WR but lets not get ahead of ourselves.
He had 1 or 2 nice games but still a lot of ground to cover to be considered legit
