    Front Office Restructuring Updates

I'd hate to lose Rizzo as well, but at this point it wouldn't be a surprise to see him take another job, esp. the way that Byrnes is already reshaping the FO.... and certainly Toronto and other teams would love to have Rizzo in their organization.

    Peter Gammons on Sportscenter

Hatred???? I've no idea what you mean by that--it's NOT hatred.... It's more a case of being aware of how the media works and knowing HOW Gammons gets his sources. I'm surprised that sophisticated fans can be gullible enough to listen/read him without skepticism.

    Peter Gammons on Sportscenter

That's EXACTLY the kind of negative rumor mongering that corporations (inlcuding baseball organizations) do to anyone that "leaves the family." Of course, locals here are perhaps more familiar with how the Dbacks begin the negative whispering campaigns against the Rubys, Overbays, Spiveys, etc...

    Peter Gammons on Sportscenter

O geez.... MANY years ago (pre-ESPN days) Gammons might have had a shred of journalistic credibility, but ever since he sold his soul to the Devil.. he has become little more than a "media whore," as he strives to be the Hedda Hopper of baseball gossip. He no longer does serious baseball...

DBacks have Rally Sally at least

Oy! Surprised to hear that she made an appearance at the AzFall league since it seemed that she was primarily spurred on by the recognition she gets when it's her Jumbo-tron time. "Relatively" subdued during most of the game, she switches into high gear when she becomes the Jumbo-tron "star"

    NL All-Star Vote Leaders

All Star voting is irrelevant... but it's pointless to get upset over how it's structured. MLB just promote$ fan voting to $park more intere$t and boo$t rating$. Besides there is NO rule that says that a player's 2-3 months stats should be weighted higher than another player's career figures...

    Matt Williams

Care to overstate that about the "Baron of Banality" I enjoy the TV broadcasts that have Matty serving as the color man. I'll take his far more original and knowledgable comments over TB's shallow enthusiasm any day!

    About something Thom said

At least 90% of what Thom says is either inaccurate or irrelevant (as is this example). He will play much better if you just set the TV to "mute"

    MLB Steroid Melodrama

So.... what other rumors can we cook up and spread around message boards (since the media seem to pick up on some of them)

Yankee fans have given up. This makes me kind of sad

That would be awesome! If that should happen, I can't see NYY fans reacting much like BoSox fans--the cynicism would be there, but larger numbers would just jump ship like rats escaping a burning building.

Another reason I don't like San Francisco fans

Every team has fans like these (including the Dbacks--check enough message boards and you'll find examples)... and these are more lame than obnoxious.

Big shakeup in Yankee land. RJ going on the disable list?

Yankees have never been the same ever since Game 7 ... and that's not because they haven't won a WS since. George S. was so dismayed that he's played an active part in the team's off-season moves ever since then... and all he knows is getting proven Alll Stars without regards to developing the...

    Diamondbacks vs Padres series thread

Can excuse the Cards more for this failure (got home too late to see it) since they had roughed up Hudson and Molina is REALLY struggling with the bat with the pitcher coming up next. The Dbacks one was a dope slap moment that shocked everyone (including McCracken since he was either totally...

Who Is Fed Up With Clayton

Double plays is more a function of 1. having runners on base 2. playing behind a ground ball pitcher (one that doesn't strike out as many batters and/or allows more fly balls) 3. "Cheating" by playing closer to 2nd base And it helps to have a competent keystone partner Double plays...

Who Is Fed Up With Clayton

People who cite Clayton's fielding, are relying primarily on his reputation... As Clayton has grown older, his fielding range has diminished (a normal process for most all players) By clicking around the ESPN--MLB fielding site these are his Zone Ratings over the past few years (including the...
