    Worst FA deals so far

I think the 49ers paying $84 miilion ($21/year) to Javon Hargrave doesn't make a lot of sense. That's a lot of money to spend on what is already one of your strengths. The 49ers were already so much better than everyone else against the run last year. Then they let Samson Ebukam and Charles...

    Reasons to not panic;

Allen and Murphy weren't re-signed because 2023 is not what we're building for. It would be foolish to bend over backwards so that we can go 8-9 instead of 4-13. Gannon and Ossenfort are taking a more long-term view. Build up the resources, stockpile draft picks, create more room under the cap...

    LJ Collier's contract numbers

Low risk, low cost player. Collier does seem like he's worse than a JAG, but nothing to lose. But surely, there are better options out there?

End of an Era - MadJack is out.

I remember reading a story, not too long ago, about the Maras, the owner of the NY Giants, meeting with a long-time season ticket holder because she was upset with the direction of the team. I wonder if anything like that will happen here.

    Zach Allen Signs with Denver

49ers signed Javon Hargrave for $21 million a year, Seahawks signed Dre'Mont Jones for $17 million a year. We let Zach Allen walk for $15 million. All I can say is that I hope this is part of a plan. It's tough to watch our divisional opponents get better while we get worse.

OT: Vance Joseph hired as the Broncos new DC

You're right about that. Apart from Baker, the whole secondary was questionable. It wasn't VJ's fault that we lost Chandler Jones, Hassan Reddick, Patrick Peterson among others, and that Watt was injured for most of his time here.

OT: Vance Joseph hired as the Broncos new DC

I harbor no hate for that man. He had a horrible roster last year. Not many DCs would have done better.

SB LVII Chiefs Eagles game thread 2-12-23

My daughter, unfortunately, is a Jets fan (due to our years living in NY/NJ), but I'm still glad she loves football. I think it says something that she can root for a franchise worse than the Cardinals. We had a good time watching the Super Bowl together.

Bradshaw says Payton didnt want to coach Murray

I agree that you can't really trust Bradshaw at this point to know which end is up. He seems confused so much of the time. In any case, it looked like Bradshaw was putting words in Payton's mouth. Payton is too smart to say anything like this to Bradshaw, even if he thought it. Also, if you're...

    Cardinals Head Coaching Candidates 2023

Not happy with the way this coaching search has been conducted, but I feel good about Flores and Anarumo. I realize that this job is not the most desirable given the current roster and QB situation. Whoever takes this job will have to be given some time to do the job. It isn't going to be turned...

I think that Kyler Murray's career is finished with his injury

I disagree that this is the end of Kyler's career. Even without the injury, Kyler was going to have to figure out how to be more of a pocket passer as he got older. What will determine success or failure is whether Kyler can develop into a quarterback who can read defenses and go through his...

    Rate the Hollywood Brown trade

Classic case of hindsight being 20/20. I liked the trade when it happened, I was excited at the prospect of Brown and DHop playing together. We never got to really see it develop because of Brown's injury, which I don't think he's fully recovered from yet. Now with Kyler hurt and probably gone...

If you deserted the cardinals for another team, who would it be

It would have to be the Chiefs. I end up watching a lot of their games because they're always on prime time, and I find myself rooting for them, even now, except when they play the Cards of course. Also find myself rooting for the Titans and Dolphins when they're on. I could never root for...

Started the game with FIVE negative plays on 1st Down

I've seen several 49ers games this year. When they're healthy, that defense is unbelievably good, as good as I've seen this year. No way our O-line is able to match up against them. So, as bad as it was, I wasn't the least bit surprised.

    Wk 11-SF 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals Pregame thread. 11/13/22-11/20/22

I agree that this game will depend on our ability to stop or at least slow down the 49er run game. I watched the 49ers-Chargers game, and the Chargers just could not stop the run, and it eventually killed them. And it wasn't CMC or Deebo Samuels, it was Elijah Mitchell, who seemed to be gashing...

    Wk 11-SF 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals Pregame thread. 11/13/22-11/20/22

The NFC is wide open this year, especially the NFC West. I can't see the Seahawks winning the division. The 49ers are probably the best team in the west, and they've got problems. They were lucky to have beaten the Chargers last week. I know it sounds improbable because we're 4-6, but it's not...

Are WE Going to Make the Playoffs?

The question is whether we will see a reversal from the last couple of years where we faded down the stretch. Is it possible that KK can, for once, put things together and make a run in the second half? Or is that just fantasy? The schedule is not terrible, but it all depends on whether KK is...

    Explicit Content Warning

Sorry BC, I didn't see that it was you when I posted. Yes, of course, you did. I hope you saw some positives the second time around. Were we that bad, or are the Seahawks actually good?

Raiders EDGE Chandler Jones named one of the worst free agent signings

Wow, he really fell off a cliff, even for 32. I mean he had 10.5 sacks last year plus 6 forced fumbles. We really dodged a bullet there. Von Miller is 33 and still productive, so you never know.

    Explicit Content Warning

Wow, that's ugly. Even when you don't score, you need to sustain a drive long enough to give the defense a break. No wonder they were worn down by the fourth quarter. Time of possession was 35 minutes to 25 minutes!

    Our franchise QB

It's hard to be objective right after a loss, so it's good to look at the facts. In the last quarterback rankings by nfl.com, KM was 12th, not at the bottom, and ahead of QBs like Prescott, Rodgers, Tannehill and Carr. Even when it comes to fumbles, it's not like KM is off the charts with his...

    Our franchise QB

The Russell Wilson/Geno Smith example shows the importance of coaching and offensive schemes. How did Wilson look so good playing for Carroll, and why does he look so bad now?
