2022 2nd round pick is TE Trey McBride

Yes. MCBride's blocking ability is well regarded.

Simmons is a safety, not a linebacker

Keim said, after thinking long and hard, the closest comp he could think of was Urlacher when he first came into the NFL. If that is anything close to correct, I don't see Simmons as a S. He'll get snaps there, but I'm thinking he will be an ILB.

    I’m so confused...

Seems delusional to me. We had Larry and Kirk, then spent 3 picks on WR last year. Then snagged DH w/ our 2nd rounder for this draft, and yet you insist they're going to spend the #1 pick on yet another WR. They also have a pass catching RB & the TE. plus Sherfield I'm pretty sure. When was the...

what position do you WANT us to draft in round 1

Derrick Brown or Simmons please. Our O is good enough to score enough points to win games, but the D is not good enough to keep other teams from scoring MORE points. If those guys are gone, that might mean Okudah is there, so he'd be my next choice. If they're all 3 gone, trade back a couple...

Who are you dreaming might be there for our R3 pick

If they cannot get D. Brown in the first......Raekwon Davis. Afraid he will be gone though...

PreDraft notes. Draft news leading up to draft day.

Trading back is very much an option it looks like.....

    Let's talk about Jeff Okudah

Zerlein actually comps him to PP.

Who are your later round draft targets?

TE Harrison Bryant or Stephen Sullivan even later... DL Jordan Elliot or Raekwon Davis I also like AJ Dillon and Chase Claypool.... S Chinn or Dugger... I also like G Jon Runyan and S AJ Reed.

What if....the thread of crazyish draft moves

I can concede that Peterson played excellent the last several games of 2019. I'm not gonna ignore the huge red flag he was waving at everybody though. While he may play well in 2020, I would be thinking real hard about drafting one of the best CB's in this draft if the opportunity presents...

What if....the thread of crazyish draft moves

PP can still play, but he's obviously not in his prime. He missed the first 6 games of 2019, remember? That implies to me that he was using PED's in 2018, during the end of the season, although that's speculation on my part. He was 28 then. The league at first wanted to suspend him for 8 games...

Things that make me say "hmmmmm"

Any DB that can't run with Ruggs, can't run with AI.

Things that make me say "hmmmmm"

Wolfley is their best diversionary tool. Lol. They're not taking a WR.

    Derek Brown

The tape man, the tape. That, and The stuff that makes his tape great. His motor. His attitude. His effort. All that stuff that the combine numbers don't measure. He may not be the next Reggie White, or Warren Sapp, but what if he turned out to be? The guy is NOT Dan Williams, I don't care what...

    Derek Brown

I'd be fine with taking Okudah or Simmons, for the obvious reasons, but Young will be gone, and it really looks like only one of Brown, Okudah or Simmons MIGHT be there. So I guess where we differ is I would take Brown IF he were there, before Wills. Yes, I would try very hard to trade down...

    Derek Brown

So you would prefer to simply ignore the fact the Cardinal D was the biggest issue in 2019 and that the teams in the NFC ran down their throat all last season. Also you would ignore Justin Murray's grading from the last half of 2019, and that the Cards already have the best group of WR's in...

Forgetting need and taking BPA - Cardinal Mock Draft

Not getting a 2nd round pick for moving back 2 spots. Even going back 4 spots it's not a balanced trade to get a 3rd. Other than that I don't see Simmons falling that far. Love some of your middle round picks, like Chinn and Harrison Bryant. I like the top one best because taking Simmons...

    Phillips Sounds Determined

Via PFT, a quote from Jordan: Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips had 5.5 sacks over his first four NFL seasons, so his 9.5-sack season for the Bills in 2019 came as something of a surprise. Phillips also had 13 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits and parleyed that big season into a...

I think our pick is Chaisson

Except with very high character! Something the Cards value quite highly. Right now he's ranked #6 at NFL.com., next guy at #7 is Wills. Aldon Smith is exactly who Zerlein comps him to also.

I think our pick is Chaisson

If they trade back some and take KC, I'll be cool w/ it. I forgot about that weird contract for Kennard. Just don't leave Brown on the board!

    Rain Man Mock Draft

Not unless your HC is BB.

    Rain Man Mock Draft

Perfect. If they get Okudah, they have til round 2 to shop PP and /or Alford.

Cynthia Frelund's Analytics-based pick for Cards

LOL! Hilarious! The Cards win total will increase by AT LEAST 2 just due to this free agency and the fact KM and KK aren't ROOKIES anymore!

    Dline question

Brown is ranked so highly because he is so strong and so disruptive. It's not always about the sack count. Bucky Brooks says Brown reminds him of how strong and disruptive Reggie White was (and he played with White). If Brown could be 9/10ths of a Reggie SOMEDAY, it would suck to pass him up.
