    Suns at Lakers 10/22

I hope the Suns figure out how to hit their threes pretty soon. 4 of 23 is just awful. Also, the Suns just got killed on the boards 37-52. In looking at the box score, the only plus was a nice game by Boris: 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 26 minutes. Unfortunately...

Three Point Shooting In the Preseason.

I noticed Redd is shooting it very well, but I didn't try to break it down very tight.

Three Point Shooting In the Preseason.

I was wondering if it was just the Suns that were struggling from the three point arc (just 34.3% this preseason). Here are the results in preseason of the top three point shooting teams from last season. San Antonio 33.3% Detroit 32.7% Milwaukee 43.1% Chicago 29.4% Orlando 42.4% Toronto...

Sarver changes mind on luxury tax

Marks has been dinged up, so we don't know if he's going to be more than just another shooter off the bench. If not, then the Suns are going to rely on the Jones boys for their inside bench play.

Who wants to protect Raja against haters on another forum?

There does seem to be a lot of extranious stuff in this discussion. No one thinks that Raja should have lost his temper any more than thinking that Kobe is justified in clobbering people just because they try to defend him. If the issue is whether Raja is a tough defender, I'd say he is. Is...

Sarver changes mind on luxury tax

Some sports writers have far too much time on their hands. :bang: It's not clear there is any practical way for the Suns to unload KT and still be a championship contender. Amare remains a long way from being very good at defending the low post and Boris is far too small for that role. None...

    Jay Williams cut from nets

How many guaranteed contracts do the Nets have? Even if he was healthy, he hasn't played in a long time and it takes a while to get back with a new team, new system, etc. His agent should try to find him a job in Europe. They don't have as much emphasis on physical skills, so he might have a...

Who wants to protect Raja against haters on another forum?

It is probably a good thing that Karl Malone didn't stay with the Lakers longer, because he could have taught Kobe how to use elbows are deadly weapons. It's curious that throwing a punch, even if it doesn't connect is an automatic technical, but throwing an elbow even when it connects is...

    Season expections/Predictions?

60-22 Keys: 1. How far and quickly Amare comes back 2. How healthy the Suns other key guys are including Nash, Marion, and Bell. 3. How quickly the Suns adjust to the new ball.

Sarver changes mind on luxury tax

For me, the key part of that article was almost an aside. Two years ago, I don't think Sarver realized just how much money could be made through sponsorship deals if the team was a championship contender. If he looked at the books for the previous dozen years, the Suns were not a super hot...

Kings Head Coach gets a little tipsy....

California is .08 limit, so he's definitely above it but far from "drunk".

    Tonights Game Vs Kings

On offense, I think Banks will be a work in progress. The Suns style is radically different from the high structure systems that almost every other team uses. Where I see Banks making an early difference is on defense. He's a tough, "in your face" typle defender that can create fast break...

Who wants to protect Raja against haters on another forum?

By every rational criteria, what Raja did was dumb. Yet in an odd way, it worked. The Suns have a longtime reputation for being soft. Just push them around and they'll fold. Somehow his clothesline got the message to his teammates that they they may lose, but they won't get abused. That's not...

    Diener on the block

Right now the Suns have only four guards. Yes, Marion or JR or Boris could play guard in a pinch, but the Suns cannot really afford an injury to anybody. Diener is very small for a guard, but he can shoot the three.

    Just To Refresh Our Memory

Everyone knew this would be a down year due to removal of HS players from the pool. If anything, the 2006 draft was made even weaker by the fact that several probable lottery players like Noah did not come out. The same could happen this coming draft, but I think the Suns could be looking a...

Why No Diaw Press Conference Yet?

Coaches don't really get much chance to evaluate personnel of other teams - especially if they are in the other conference. Seeing a guy a few times doesn't give much indication as to how well the guy performs day in and day out. Clearly the scouting of Boris was more about what he did in...

    Boris Diaw Signs Extension

This is pretty close to what I have expected for months. $40 million was probably too low considering that Barbosa got $33; but $50 million was still pretty steep for a center who averages only .19 rpm. $45 million feels like a reasonable value and makes Boris tradeable if it becomes necessary...

    Just To Refresh Our Memory

Some of their moves really have been stupid (Outlaw for Knight for White who required draft picks to unload) or just didn't work. None the less, the Suns have made more good moves than bad. None of the post BC decisions look brilliant or stupid so far. Not signing TT to a long term deal to...

Wow. A well thought out aritcle.

The point in the article about forcing teams to take jump shots was pretty interesting. Obviously the Suns lack a classic straight on shot blocker, so the challenge is to keep penitration to minimum and push opponents to the baseline. This can't happen if the Suns are forced to double the post...

    Looking at the Box Score

I didn't see the game against the Clippers, but in looking at the box score several things stand out: 1. 22 turnovers is awful. I don't know if it is the new ball, jet lag, or new player combinations, but it is amazing the Suns only lost by 11. 2. The Suns shot just 7 of 20 for three. This...

    Eddie Johnson files lawsuit

Would they have helped you figure out which Eddie Johnson was accused? I'm not sure Eddie has a legal case, but that does not excuse shoddy journalism. If newspapers want to differentiate themselves from personal blogs, they have to take their craft seriously. That means checking...

    Stoudemire = Headcase

I went through hip surgery a few years ago and the pain was very hard to deal with. It effects your mood a lot. I'm not surprised that Amare's mood goes up and down with how he feels physically. However, I have confidence in Amare's will power to get through the rough patches.
