    Suns 2025-2026 Season Discussion

There is huge difference between true goto players and complementary ones. On the Suns, Book and Brooks count for 1.5 or 1.7 goto guys, potentially Green could make it 2.5-2.7. Gillespie can be very effective next to 1-2 star players, as the secondary playmaker and 3pt shooter. Allen and RO are...

Dunn's def. attention is bad that led to the alleyop dunk. ManMan's is quite good now, rotating timely to help with excellent outcomes.

Dunn definitely hit a wall and regressed a bit. His 3s recently often became airball. too nervous?

What Maluach lacks is mainly strength and experience. He is supposed to be a quick learner. Green slowly get his legs back, and thus shooting touches. He is not a good passer yet while driving full speed. Fleming confident with his 3s. Highsmith with the highest +/- without scoring.

    Suns 2025-2026 Season Discussion

It's not KD alone, but the deals and ensuing roster constructions. The idea of big-3, particularly with Beal as part of it, was the main culprit that never had a chance to succeed given the new salary framework.

Just usual amateur mistakes of attention to the ball only instead of to spacing and boxing out. His core stamina is still weak, so that he cant do both at the same time and need to concentrate on spacing first. Early this season both Fleming and ManMan have the same issues, including jumping too...

Suns draft Khaman Maluach with the 10th pick

stay on the feet, no jump, no foul, great chances for blocks ensue from there

Allen and Book got ball stolen by Murray in the final min., that were careless. Murray has long arms. Maluach needs core strength to be able to quickly regather himself. Right now he is pushed away too far after each collision or body bump. Otherwise he is capable of good court vision to be a...

very glad to see Maluach learning to block out his man quickly that secured many def. rebounds. His assist to CG's corner 3 was very nice too. He's just too slow reacting to imperfect passes and recollecting himself, which leads to TOs in such attempts. With time it'll come. And Green got his...

I think Ott's idea was to use this game to give our young guys as much as possible playing time, while still getting a win vs one of the worst teams in NBA right now. It backfired, due to way too much lack of cohesion. It's miracle we were this close to winning it at the very end. Green became...

ManMan's core strength is lacking and easily pushed around or off balance under the basket. He's only 19 with about 5 yrs basketball experience.

It's not just one guy, but our switches are careless that gave their drives some initial advantage.

If we had Goodwin and Highsmith in there to stop Sexton and Jones, the game won't be this hard

Allen and Book raised their game and made us back. Allen has a habit to start with very long 3pt shooting that's expected to be low lilelihood. His closer range 3s are almost a sure thing if open, as he finally changed to it and calmly nailed one middle in the game, and found back his confidence...

I guess the unusually high number of minutes played left trace of wear on MW. He's been supbar for quite a few games lately. Many TOs in last game involved passing to him.

Suns draft Rasheer Fleming with the 31st pick

That meets the eye test. He's been easily pushed around on rebounding and position D. Sure his court vision is also lacking but that can improve with experience and coaching. He does have a soft touch and good 3pt shooting basics.

Suns draft Rasheer Fleming with the 31st pick

Can't say that about Dunn who stagnated in year 2, and regressed a bit on D.

Fleming has improved, a lot. He has the size and athletism, and now need to practise and play with the rotation players, to be playable for even more minutes.

    Suns 2025-2026 Season Discussion

We have a top-heavy roster construction philosophy, 2-3 stars followed with medium to bottom type role players with specialties. This year we are lucky Brooks and Allen stepped up as kinda goto guys behind Booker, who could semi consistently create offense on their own. In stark contrast, OKC...

Lakers @ Suns Thursday Game Thread, 2-26-2026

Lakers is not a good defensive team. That made our guys confident in their shots. From +/- POV, Dunn again has the worst one on the team followed by Allen. Fleming has improved a lot, is quick and big and active on both sides, much better potential going forward than Dunn.

    The Oso Ighodaro Thread.

Oso's shooting and Dunn's D are the main issues these sophomors need to improve. Oso ought to abandon his forward leaning push shot completely. That worked maybe in highschool and college, but won't work in NBA where players are bigger and much more athletic to block it, and in turn force Oso to...

Celtics @ Suns Tuesday Game Thread, 2-24-2026

The talent issue was calculated with the picks of all those potential guys the last 2 years. Dunn regressed or at least stagnated, Richards and Hayes-Davis were bad fits, Livers and Bouyea regressed after injuries. Only consistent positive subs are Oso and Goodwin. And Gillespie and MW also...
