    Random Post-Draft roster observations

Maybe you are right. I thought Demercado was a pleasant surprise considering he didn't even play much for TCU. Good scouting to find a guy like him.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I think we can dream, but I think after watching last off-season, the Cardinals are likely done adding significant contributors.

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

Eh, he was not good at all. That's a fan narrative that wasn't based on objective reality. There was a reason he was planted in the dog house and the team tried every other corner than him.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I'd like Conner at that number, but I'd argue that if Benson looks really good, the team would probably want to bring in a younger guy. It's funny to see the Rams also going down the same route, doubling down on their ability to run the ball and trying to go the ball control route. Maybe we...

    Chris Moore, not Rondale.

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

I have a higher opinion of Wilson and Dortch than I do of Thomas and Clark. CB was a glaring weakness, much more so than WR if you factor in Harrison Jr. I think the secondary at least in paper has a much cleaner look now...even though they will definitely take their lumps as rookies.

    Random Post-Draft roster observations

Eh I don't think any of those OL have any actual trade value, and Beachum has more value as mentor and swing back up. Agree on this. If you're keeping 4 RBs and likely 4 TEs, it's hard to justify keeping 6 WRs. Agree on Demercado, disagree on Carter. He has value as a scat back type.

    Random Post-Draft roster observations

I don't really see a path for Demercado making it now. Dallas is a good all around special teamer and probably a better all around player. Just from perusing Conner's game logs, the Cardinals are likely to feed him the rock as much as possible when situation dictates. Not a lot of carries for...

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I'd argue Conner is most likely a goner now, and this is a good time to make that move. The other three, Id be down to resign. Hernandez has low key been one of the better Arizona Cardinals era OLineman.

Ossenfort is Kicking the Hornets’ Nest in this Draft.

This stuff is absolute silliness. Kingsley Suimatawhatever dropped because he wasn't a first round pick in any universe. He was passed over twice by almost every team in the league.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

Froholdt should be the primary target, but who else? Kyzir White?

    Random Post-Draft roster observations

That's a fair question when you pose it that way. I would expect that Carter is the third down guy and will play quite a bit, while Benson is more of a lead ball carrier type who spell Conner. Benson might not get a ton of touches this year, but it was still a good pick since he is likely...

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I think the Cardinals are really serious about building this team through the draft and not going after FA quick fixes. Next year is going to be wildly different than the past two years under Monti since the Cardinals are guaranteed to have a lot of cap space and a lot less draft capital.

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

Jones was a bit rich, but I think he gives you another chance to fix CB if Melton doesn't work out. Running 12 and 13 means the Cardinals have a lower need for WR depth.

    Random Post-Draft roster observations

Jones is probably decently safe since the team just drafted him, he would have to be a disaster not to make the team. Evan Brown has $1.1 million guaranteed, so he's likely sticking around too. I said it before the draft that I wanted the Cardinals to throw some draft picks at CB and I got my...

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

It's a possibility for sure. Wilkinson does offer G/T versatility, though he was a disaster at tackle.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

My point is that the Cardinals won't need a ton of production from WR #4 and #5. From perusing stats from other teams, you don't see a ton of catches from WR #4 and #5 and most the players are pretty much scrubs. The Cardinals have a higher opinion of Dortch and Wilson than the fans do.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I'd say that these guys are almost guaranteed to make the roster: PJJ, Evan Brown, Froholdt, Hernandez, Jonah Williams, and Adams. Beachum and Christian Jones have a strong likelihood to make the roster. Probably means an OG/C is the next guy up since you have two back up tackles.

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

Agree. I didn't feel like OG was as big a need as WR. I definitely believe safety was a huge need with Baker coming up on free agency and the scary bad depth there. I do think the Cardinals feel that Adams will be a starter at OG soon however.

2024 7th round pick #226 is Jaden Davis CB

I thought this year's class had more depth, but the NFL disagreed. What was crazy was how many guys I saw go in round 3 that would go in round 6-7 in mock drafts. That tells me the media were really off on their projections this year.

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

I like for the team to draft guys with traits on day three. Palmer and Thomas really fit in that category.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

If MHJ and McBride are fairly high volume receivers, a #3 and #4 receiver aren't getting that many touches. 40-50 catches from Wilson and Dortch. Then after that the backs and other receivers just need to chip in like 20-30 catches. Source: 2023 Kansas City Chiefs stats.

    So... 2024 UDFAs?

    "The Trade"

If you listen to the post day two presser, Monti absolutely intimated that. Max Melton is an absolute dog. It was cool to see what Saban thought about him.
