    Well, ASU has at least been competitive in every game since the Fresno State game, even with the talent shortfall. That shows some growth, and gives some hope once they get some higher quality personnel.

    I don't blame you. I'm a lifelong Phillies fan, but I would undoubtedly hate them if the roles were reversed. Heck, there have been times I've hated them anyway, when they had cheap ownership and stunk for years on end.

    As a Phillies fan, I am anything but sure of that. Their manager is proving again to be a giant boob. If he puts Kimbrel out there one more time to choke away another game, he is going to replace Santa Claus and/or Jerry Jones as the most hated man in Philadelphia.

    Yeah, that's right... my bad. I just remember once the Phillies got to two wins, everyone saying they were definitely winning it all. So that made me misremember them as having more of a commanding lead than they obviously did.

    You can't get too down on the DBacks. The Phillies have a stacked lineup. It wasn't a fluke they were in the World Series last year. Heck, they are even missing another big bat from last season in Rhys Hoskins, who has been out all season with a knee injury. He would be another 30 HR, 90 RBI guy...

    The series isn't by any means over yet, but looking tougher if Phils hold on. Nevertheless, the Phillies are veteran team built for post season. DBacks are a young upstarts in their first playoffs. They have lots of room to grow going forward.

    I agree. There is clearly a lot of media hate going on. But I also look at it as advantageous to them - extra motivation and less likely to fall into complacency. So let everyone hate on, I say.

    It's really still anybody's series. DBacks not in a terrible position if they can steal a win tomorrow and then head back to Phoenix for next three. But if Phillies win again, there will be no more margin for error for them.

    Yet another awful chapter in the saga of how badly the Suns were at scouting and selecting guys during the Sarver era. The one out of the park hit with Booker notwithstanding, I still can't believe how egregiously bad they were using all of those high draft picks.

    Stepped away for like two minutes with Schwarber coming up and come back to see Phillies having hit two HRs and their cleanup hitter at bat. That escalated quickly, quite literally.

    I don't agree with Hoop all that often, but I agree that it's probably a better proposition to fill out your bench, even to the last spot, with younger guys who have potential upside (even if it's a shot in the dark) rather than vet JAGs (even if they're good/character guys). Just for example...
