Devin Gardner is part of that new generation of sports commentators who try too hard and annoy way too much, as a result.

Higher than what? They've only beaten one P5 team with a winning record (Cincinnati) and Hawaii.

I don't disagree. But ASU's OC is a moron and seemingly game plans randomly, so I wouldn't at all be surprised if ASU tries to throw on every other down in the first quarter and gets behind because of it, and then ends up having to stage a late comeback to win by finally running the ball...

It really is a tossup. Arizona has been winning, but their schedule has also been pretty easy. And most of their games have gone about like ASU's, where they've looked pretty meh throughout most of it, and then done just enough to get over the top near the end. The win against Baylor yesterday...

They've only beaten two teams with winning records. And one of those is Hawaii, who isn't exactly top notch competition.

This is probably as close to a pick-em game as we've had in a while. Identical records, and both teams have question marks that indicate they may not be as good as their records indicate.

I don't understand that summary. According to that, we really only need UCF to win, so why even mention the Texas Tech-WV game?

Turnovers, penalties, and injuries have been the story of the season. It really is remarkable they still have a shot at a 10 win season.

    R.I.P Rodney Rogers

RIP, Rodney. The Suns have had an extraordinary number of former forwards and centers who have died relatively young - Maurice Lucas, Cliff Robinson, Armon Gilliam, Wayman Tisdale, Alton Ford, Jackson Vroman, Nick Vanos, Oliver Miller, and now Rodney Rogers. It really is a sad coincidence.

I don't know if I care too much about anything else this season than if we can potentially finish ahead of the Lakers.

    The future of Sam Leavitt

Honestly, Leavitt, whether he returns or leaves, is going to be a big question mark as a QB going forward. He's not a skilled drop back passer but is more of a "playmaker" type in the mold of guys like Jake Plummer, Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, etc. Those guys are looked at skeptically (for...

Booker is good for what he is - skilled but pretty ordinary athletically for the NBA. You get someone like Edwards who is both skilled AND athletic, he's going to make Booker look pretty ordinary.

News from around the NBA 2025-2026

It's interesting to note that ex-Suns "bits and pieces" from the last few years have not done well around the league after leaving the Suns. It definitely seems to speak about our talent evaluation at filling out the roster from about 2020 to 2024.

Suns @ Trail Blazers Tuesday game thread, November 18th, 2025

Yeah, it's pretty obvious the main difference between this year's team and last year's is that a lot more of the rotation guys are defensively skilled. Last year it pretty much ended at Dunn and O'Neale.

Devin Booker is the greatest player EVER in Suns history

At the present, he's headed towards being a longer tenured Westphal or a statistically better Dick Van Arsdale. He'll eventually probably be celebrated as the all-time "face" of the franchise, but unless something significant changes, he's not likely to be anymore associated with a "golden age"...

    The future of Sam Leavitt

That's going to be an ongoing issue for every college program until something is in place so everyone in D1 is on equal footing with regards to NIL limits.

News from around the NBA 2025-2026

Exactly. Name all the notable extra tall and athletic centers in NBA history who weren't eventually plagued with leg or foot problems at some point in their careers. There aren't many, especially as you get into the more recent era.

Hawks @ Suns Sunday game thread, November 16th, 2025

I'm not going to be too down on them here. They are exceeding expectations by a wide margin so far. But they can't afford to be shorthanded by injuries at all. They just don't have the depth to handle that. They need Allen and Green back to keep the momentum they've been building, and somehow...

West Virginia @ ASU, Saturday, November 15th, 2025, 11 AM

The problem this season (besides injuries) is you never know which ASU team is going to show up from week to week. Some weeks they are pancake flat, and others, they play unexpectedly inspired. I couldn't pretend to venture a guess on how they will finish out the season.

    Suns 2025-2026 Season Discussion

I agree contention is out of the picture for at least a little while. There are potential wrinkles to that that could occur, but they are unlikely or highly speculative at best. However, you can't realistically expect this present roster to stay intact for the next several years. There's going...

The health thing is the big one. I think they'll be competitive in most games if they just stay healthy.

    OT: Nico Harrison Fired

The whole lowball deal to the Lakers thing still smells to high heaven. It would be, let's say, "interesting" if at some point, Harrison re-emerges as employed by the Lakers... or the NBA itself.
