    When I was a junior in high school, all the performing arts classes went on a field trip to see Amadeus, which had just opened in theaters. So many kids jammed in that auditorium, one of the cutest girls in class had to sit on my lap. The movie was great, too.

    We tried. We really tried. But after 20 minutes it proved painfully dull. The characters were terribly uninteresting, and there wasn't even a hint of an engaging story. If I went to the theater and paid for it, I suppose I'd stick around, but as I was at home, I gave up.
