Yeah, you can't trust a lot of the reviewers. There's a couple of them that sell gear and do calibrations and their reviews always talk up the crap they sell and downplay everything else. Zero trustworthiness. The Hook Up on you tube is a good reviewer. He's always pretty fair and tells it...

Sounds good. Both models are neck and neck and the top performers. I just wanted to give the extra info to make sure that you had all of your bases covered.

Thinking about it some more, if you're looking at PX3-pro then I'd also recommend looking at the Aurora Pro MKII, it's what I have. Both models are pretty close to one another with some little trade offs. Nexigo has been amazing since I got mine with updates and supporting new stuff. One...

I have a P1S too, great printer. I've been tempted to get the new H2C with the laser module but haven't been able to justify the price yet…

The PX3-pro has better black levels. The big thing for the L9Q is the brightness if there's going to be daylight but it sounds like you're room is mostly dark with not much light. So I'd take better black levels and $2500 still in my pocket. As for the sound system…it's not the route I'd go...

Oh, wow, hadn't realized that it was mad my Hisense. From what I've seen about it looked like it was a solid model. I dealt with Zac a couple years ago the first time my FMT had issues. He was the one that setup talking with the manufacturer and doing the exchange. At the time they were the...

lol, kickers, cute. ;) The DIY guys have gone way past them. The best thing to do now is you build a riser that has subwoofers built into that's sitting on inner tubes that go around the subs. Sounds crazy but it's really stable and lets you feel everything down to single digits. This is...

    Stargate: Atlantis

The shows are great. All time favorites of mine. SG-1 expands way beyond what was in the movie. The show is basically what the Ancient Alien guys think Earth used to be. They pull in most of the old gods in one way or another and really expand on the Egyptian stuff.

Riser you say… How much do you like bass and how crazy are you? Remember, you're talking to someone who's insane.

I'd say start small (in ambition) and complexity to start. Find some simple stuff that you could use around the house or for hobbies to get used to printing and the quirks with it. I started off with basic helper items for woodworking when I first started. Stuff like helpers that hold 2...

Do you even have to ask if I do? I'm king of the nerds after all. ;) I've had a printer for almost a decade now and print a lot of stuff. I usually make things that I need for other projects. Like I just printed server rack holders for all of my media players to organize the shelf in the...

Completely. Luckily most UST screens are ALR now. Either lenticular or fresnel. Even my screen that's more of a traditional screen is rated at 38% light rejecting.

It depends on the size of the room and how far back you can sit from it. I'm at 130" and it's the max I could go in my room. At least for 16:9 I could maybe go a little bit bigger for 2.39:1. The real key isn't the screen size but you're viewing angle. I'm at about 55° which is about the...

There's dark and then there's black hole dark. ;) When I'm talking dark I mean the room has black velvet for its walls and ceilings so that there's no reflected light that can wash the picture at all. I'm completely blacked out now. It gets sort of addicting. "I'm going to do the back all...

200" I wouldn't recommend unless you're building a bat cave. Even 150" can be pushing it but that model has good brightness. Fresnel is a type of ALR for UST projectors. They're really good for giving a bright image with rooms that have some ambient light. They can be pretty pricey though at...

With it being a post-June 1st release isn't he still technically on the roster next week to trigger the bonus?

What size screen are you looking to do? Unless you're in a blacked out room I'd recommend going with a fresnel with a UST. I'd lean towards getting one of the Nexigo ones from what I've heard based on quality. They have them in 100", 120", with 135" and 150" just starting to ship.

Love the Why Files but not a fan of these interviews or the campfire episodes. AJ needs to get back to doing real episodes. There's only been two so far this year.

    Artificial Intelligence Thread

Good article from another someone who was a former leader at Block. He's saying what I've been thinking and saying for a bit now. Most of these layoffs aren't due to AI, and the data shows that, it's due to companies getting too fat during zirp and now they're right-sizing while using AI as...

Just because Elon over cut doesn't mean it wasn't bloated. They had so many useless people at that company coasting by. If you're 10 pounds overweight than it's good to lose the 10 lbs, not so good to lose 40. Twitter's drop in rankings isn't just due to the cuts either. It mainly has to...

    Artificial Intelligence Thread

I think AI's a small part of it but the majority of it is due to those two posts. Dorsey's companies seem to always be extremely bloated when it comes to staff. We've seen it with other companies of his and what I've heard through friends that have worked a different ones. This is most likely...

    Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (AppleTV+)

Yeah, it's becoming the typical streaming schedule that I can't stand. It's a bit over 2 years now since S1 finished. Hard to keep any buzz and momentum with these long breaks. Especially with 10 episode seasons. I've love to see some show go more network old school like X-Files and SG-1...

    Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (AppleTV+)

S2 starts this week. I'm still hoping that they retooled a bit by cleaning up the teen drama crap and keep the focus on the monsters. Give Anna something to work with. We saw what she could do in Shogun.
