    Suns @ Mavs game thread

After Terry missed the second free throw .... could this have happened? Suns get rebound. Someone on the Suns calls a timeout. Because they don't have any time outs, the Suns get a technical. Dirk makes free throw. Grant Hill throws in the ball length of the court to Channing Frye, who...

New York Knicks 2010 First Round Draft Pick

Back on January 5, 2004: Marbury, Penny Hardaway and Cezary Trybanski were traded to the New York Knicks for Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Antonio McDyess, Maciej Lampe, draft rights to Miloš Vujanić, a first-round 2004 draft choice, and an additional future first-round draft choice, likely to be...

Nash in the Hall of Fame?

Rather slow around here. Anyone have an opinion on this? http://www.writingthepine.com/2009/09/15/is-steve-nash-a-hall-of-famer/ My heart says yes. And ya know, my brain says yes now, too. This is a list of retired players who won an MVP (just one) and didn't make it to the Hall of Fame...

    Just looking to pile on...

I dunno about this family vacation analogy. The quest for the ring is more like Frodo's quest to destroy the ring. It's more like the Amazing Race. There's a chance of failure. The chances of me choosing to go to on a road trip and expecting to arrive are a little higher than the Suns...

Suns Announce 2009-10 Regular Season Schedule

It's really easy to copy and paste to excel from here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/teams/schedule?team=pho Just remember to "Paste Special" as text. Give a holler if you need more detailed instructions.

    Worst Expecations

That would be me, so I guess I should say something. I lived in Los Angeles for a while and I never found a Lakers fan who believed they were spoiled. They were really frustrated why a team so talented couldn't win a championship. Thankfully, I left before Shaq won his championship...

Suns Announce 2009-10 Regular Season Schedule

Felt like playing around in Excel and who would have thought Orlando would have the most nationally televised team this year? For some reason NBATV, like a lot of us here, doesn't like the Lakers. Orlando 32 Cleveland 29 Denver 29 San...

Tyson Chandler and Emeka Okafor close to being swapped

Could we give the benefit of the doubt and it actually crossed Kerr's mind? A lot of trades happen without a whiff of a rumor. So that follows that a lot of potential trades are discussed without a whiff of a rumor.

    Worst Expecations

I carefully made sure to add "in the past 20 years". But as one person said, people have different ways of viewing and defining success. Plus, I'm trying to look at the bright side of our situation.

    Worst Expecations

You're right, too. If you want to compare ourselves against Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Spurs, Rockets, and Piston franchises, we aren't doing so hot. But against every other franchise in the NBA, most franchises would kill for our "success" over the past 20 years.

There's a team in Denver I hear is pretty good, too.

    Worst Expecations

In many ways we Suns fans are spoiled. We enter the 2009-10 season with the worst expectations since the beginning of the 1987-88 season when they (when they traded midseason for KJ, Corbin, and West). That's a LONG time. The only competition would be before the 2002-03 season when we...

Who is worth the maximum then?

Hey, I'm just thinking aloud. Perhaps, it's not my best analogy but follow me here and see if I got something. We have the right to complain about the way the Suns operate. We have a right to complain about a lot of things. I'm not arguing that. I just wondering aloud why we complain so much...

Who is worth the maximum then?

IF Sarver doesn't want to pay 40,000 on a Mercedes, I have no right to complain. If Sarver doesn't want to pay for a first round draft pick, I have no right to complain.
  19. D

Who is worth the maximum then?

I see where you're coming from. But that would mean we can't complain about Sarver's spending anymore because he's just spending his money the way he wants to. NBA salaries are absurdly high. When Sarver bought the Suns, he also bought into these NBA prices.

Who is worth the maximum then?

Let's look at this another way. Is Amare worth the max? Who is then? Definitely: LeBron, Kobe, Wade, Duncan, Garnett I don't see too many people arguing against them (except maybe Duncan because of age and Garnett because of injuries?) Then we got Dirk, Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Yao...

    Would you rather. . .

    1. Hill - Better locker room presence. However, if given the choice I would spend the money on a big guy instead. I'd be OK with just signing Gortat and seeing what kind of team we would become. 2. A healthy Chandler 3. I would lean toward Barnes only because he has something more to...

Suns To Wait And See What's Left?

But neither Utah or Blazers (not counting 1977) have zero championships. And Utah reached the WCF only once in the post Stockton/Malone era. Portland last reached the WCF in 2000. Would you say they are more successful than the Suns have been in the past several years? Except for perhaps...

Looks like Marion only Smokes Cubans

The more I think about it, Dallas can have Marion. I'd rather have Clark and Dudley man the small forward position. Maybe this year Marion will do better. But in a couple years, Clark and Dudley have a chance to become part of the Suns future. And in a couple years Marion would just be...

Suns will show interest in Shawn Marion... per Gambo

Have the Suns made any mention of wanting that pick back? Most of the complaints about the 2010 pick I hear comes from columnists or this board. But I do agree, we shouldn't build our season around one first round draft pick next year. As much as I hate the waiting, the Suns should be...
