    Jevon Carter

I liked Jevon Carter. He reminds me of Shaq Herrison the way he attacks defending one on one. I thought we should have3 kept Shaq despite his offensive weaknesses because of how disruptive he could be. Hoperfully Jevvon and can stick. Melton hasn't shown any great defensive skills, IMO.

    Kelly Oubre...

Just read this thread and while I didn't 'like' any posts, I found something to like in nearly every one of them. More than that was the fact that everyone posted a respectful contribution. It was a refreshing read! No sniping, no snide 1 liners. I poked around is few other threads and found...

    A Farewell of sorts

Just finished a couple of weeks in the Hospital and enjoyed spending 3 hrs catching up with the board. Amazing how you guys are sticking with the team, I must say. I've been silent most of the time - I didn't watch but a few games so I really couldn't contribute to the basketball convo. My...

Who would you like to coach the Suns next season?

The closest thing we have to a concensus seems to be: Our current FO cannot hire a decent coach. Assuming that is true, I'd be interested to know how many people think we should fire Igor anyway and just keep scraping the bottom of the barrel until somebody accepts the job? Of course, some...

Who would you like to coach the Suns next season?

Summarizing the candidates that been put forward... Calipari Becky Hammon Thibs Kidd Monte Williams Pitino No concenus though Hammon has been seconded three times and Calipari once. Thibs and Kidd are without jobs (I think) so they would probably be more willing to take an offer than Calipari...

Who would you like to coach the Suns next season?

I vote for Becky Hammon for a variety of reasons: 1) She might accept the job simply because she can't wait to be an NBA head coach. 2) She had the moxie to move to Russia to get around the powers that be in WNBA circles - and proved them wrong about her. 3) She's worked under Popavich for 5...

    Ja, Anyone?

I have never bought into the idea that drafting just one of Chriss and Bender would have been a winning strategy. Now drafting zero of them would have been a smart move. Anyway give me two picks instead of one and I'll live with the occasional freakish result where they somehow cancel each...

    Tyler Johnson to the Suns

The evidence against Igor is fairly strong, IMO. But the question is, do we have anyone in the FO who we can depend on for finding a better coach? I don't see anyone so just for the sake of some continuity we should continue with Igor, and hope that he can improve. Like BC said in the post...

    Ja, Anyone?

Unless Ja shows well against some stronger teams down the stretch, I'd go for a PF. Heck John Collins was picked in the 20's recently. The odds are there is someone who is a decent prospect at that position. Put the assistant coaches to work searching for him, if we have no actual scouts...

Lakers trade point guard Lonzo Ball to the Suns for (....)

If the Lakers - Pels trade goes through, the latter will have to shed some players. We might look to pickup PG Tim Frazier from the Pels for a reasonable price. He's not Jrue Holiday, but he offers something we need - he gets the same number of assists as Jrue, but has 1/3 less TO's, on a...

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

Interesting article JCS, but the last time I did correlation analysis of box score stats, steals in many years had negative correlation with winning. Other years they had a small positive correlation. Overall they had a slight negative correlation. Obviously steals are positive but the...

The 2018-2019 Around the NBA thread

Claiming a guy off waivers means that you pay his salary. The worst record gives you first chance at that. For the most part nobody signs guys off waivers unless they have a very low cost. If nobody claims a player off waivers after 72 hours then he is a free agent and can sign with any team...

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

I spotted another young PG with some striking stats. He sat on the pine for Denver last year but he'd getting 25 mpg this year. Shooting .465, .441 (on 3.8/36), .784 this seaon. The striking stat is ast/TO = 5.7, second best in hte league. Denver isn't likely to want to trade him, but he...

Suns reportedly to sign forward Quincy Acy to ten day contract

Acy has been listed as a SF except for his first year, then listed as PF. He's big enough to fill in for us at PF - rebounds at a decent clip. Last year he shot threes at 35% but he's been up and down over his six seasons on that stat. I'd guess he is trying to establish himself as a stretch...

    Clippers @ Suns 1-4-19

That's the last thing that Sarver would ever do... he clings desperately to every shred of power he can. It's to the point that arguing about what he should do is pointless. Short of the league stepping in to take control and running the team, it will take him deciding to sell the team before...

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

No one has mentioned Tyus Jones of the Wolves for some time. I don't think the team is trying to move him but he's got to be pretty unhappy with his situation - he's playing behind Rose and Teague so he's not really getting to show what he can do. He's never been a big time scorer but he's...
