Suns Announce Plans for a G-League Team in 2024-25

You don't remember Theo Maledon when he was on a Two-Way last season and @Mainstreet wanted him to see action nightly? I'm kidding Mainstreet, you did ask about him a few times. Couldn't have hurt to see what he had.

Basketball going back to NBC Broadcasts

Ill be surprised if he does retire. He's said similar things before, about when he'll retire. Maybe this is it since TNT appears to be losing the NBA but I think someone will back the Bricks truck up and get him to do something.

Kobe was a free agent in 2004. He re-signed with the Lakers but after visiting other teams like the Clippers and Bulls.

Nash was Plan A, B, and C. The Suns brass flew to meet him shortly after midnight. Jerry and Bryan Colangelo, new owner Robert Sarver, D'Antoni, and a few others. The whole TMac/Kobe stuff was a smoke screen.

Suns Announce Plans for a G-League Team in 2024-25

You can't build a team of 14 undrafted guys under 21. They need some g-league vets to help mentor the younger guys and show them the way. Plus they're playing to win in the G-League as well. The likelihood of more than 1 or 2 guys making it up from the G-League is extremely slim. Don't look at...

Figured this is best here since it is semi-related. Barkley says he's done after the next season when the NBA deal is up with TNT.. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40354302/charles-barkley-says-next-season-final-one-tv

And would potentially get some folks to want to return when/if they come back. Which was supposed to be happen within 5 years. I believe he said he was hoping to get them back sooner. Seems sketchy.

The future of the Coyotes franchise...

I get that the layoffs are inevitable. It's the compensation. 1 extra paycheck shows a real lack of loyalty and care towards the staff as a whole. The Suns were sold and people kept their job but Sarver dipped into the billions he made off the sale and spread that around on his way out. Kind of...

Suns Announce Plans for a G-League Team in 2024-25

That's interesting. Maledon was on a Two-Way here last season. Mudiay had some promise at once point. Jahlil Okafor is definitely a bust but maybe can be a backup big if he's willing to work hard at it.

The future of the Coyotes franchise...

Just sold for $1.2 billion and giving folks an extra paycheck when being laid off. Robert Saver gave everyone $20k bonuses when the Suns sold and I don't believe anyone was laid off. I was neutral on that Meruelo guy before but now he's about equal to Sarver, IMO. He may not have been a dbag but...

LeBron is the same way and he's been in the league 20+ years. He even got the Lakers to make a formal complaint on how they're officiated, claiming they dont get calls. I recall the report on that early this season and had to laugh at the delusion. Stars are used to be coddled. Referees are...

NBA Finals Boston vs Dallas (poll)

I think that 6th foul again Luka goes his way a lot. He's so bad at lateral movement and gets blown by so often and it's such a common occurrence that whenever someone doesn't go around him he gets bailed out by refs. It was very deliberate on Boston's end though that they were going to draw...

    RIP: Jerry West (1938-2024)

I enjoyed that series also but apparently West hated his portrayal. He considered suing at one point and was one of the first people portrayed to speak out against it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/timlammers/2024/06/12/why-jerry-west-was-angered-over-his-portrayal-in-la-lakers-tv-series/ It's...

Boston has the #3 defense. I think they're better than Minnesota also. They've blown more teams out and won more games as well, which I believe could cause a disparity between them and Minnesota. More garbage time allows for inflated offensive numbers for their opponents and lower defensive...

I don't know much about Meruelo but isn't him bidding a good thing? Doesn't he have a handshake deal with the NHL that if he can get that land and an arena then the Coyotes, or an NHL team by another name, will return? I thought he had like 3-4 years to make if happen. Can someone fill me in...

NBA Finals Boston vs Dallas (poll)

Jaylen is likely the MVP. He's been big. Dallas has played Tatum hard, perhaps too hard, and it's allowed Jaylen and others to step up since Jayson is just dishing it away instead of forcing it like he has in the past.

NBA Finals Boston vs Dallas (poll)

That's crazy. Would have hit it tonight had Luka not fouled out. Ultimately I think it didn't hurt them that bad since their defense was stronger with him on the bench. Boston was having to work harder for shots that weren't as good. Offensively he could have helped but the Celtics seemed so...

I think Minnesota would have been a better fight. Their size might give Boston problems. KAT would crumble though. He seemed to wilt with the pressure of the WCF, the finals would have broken him Nick Anderson style.

NBA Finals Boston vs Dallas (poll)

Yeah, I enjoy watching Luka get beat but it's not his defense costing Dallas this game or the series. Boston just swings the ball like the Duncan era Spurs did, just jetting it all over the court. Everyone gets a touch and it leads to a good to great look.

NBA Finals Boston vs Dallas (poll)

It was competitive throughout the first half. No one pulling away and then Boston's bench just rallied in the 3rd. As important as stars are, you need role players to step up to win. Boston has had that, Dallas hasn't. Dallas had Washington, Gafford, and Lively all step up in their way to the...
