They changed that rule. One can stay on PUP as long as the team wants with no repercussions. If they come off PUP then they have to be on the active roster by a certain time. I don’t remember the time or penalty if not.
The idea that we would better with Colt McCoy is crazy. Lingering elbow injury. He couldnt throw. Thus cut. Who has he signed with since being cut. Nobody! Old and damaged goods!
I didn’t say I didn’t care for them. In fact I said I liked them both. Just think they were just average. Thought it when we had them. Opinion didn’t change because they left. Although I agree players tend to get trashed after they leave. I’ll agree to disagree on the Hopkins handling. The rest...
I don’t disagree that it’s an indictment against the club. Whatever their reason was, (and we don’t know) it was enough to go elsewhere. I liked them both but in my opinion, they were both average at best, and injury prone. Certainly not so great as to be losing our **** over them leaving.
Spot on take! Hop and only Hop made it impossible to trade him. Whether it was March or now no team was going to pay a 31 year old WR with Hops production the last two seasons 19 plus million let alone give up draft capitol too. At no point was Hop willing to restructure. Point, blank, period.
I’ll be curious to see how the Bills or Chiefs fit what he’s gonna want paid under their cap. They both have next to nothing in cap space. Both teams agreed to trade for him but Hop refused to restructure. Above all he wants paid. Period.
There is no full funding from the Cards. The rest of his contract has no guaranteed $. He already got that. It’s a major cap hit for 2023. Period. The Cards will not pay him another dime.
And perhaps he didn’t. As with a lot of stuff that supposedly goes on we truly don’t know. But even if he did, running the bus over his teammate to the media is weak af In my old ass opinion.
