I have a feeling that DeMeco Ryans will be the HC

Any coach looking at the Cardinals has to know that 2023 is a pure rebuilding year that won't look pretty in the standings. Best case scenario is that the Defense is improved and the team fights till the end. Plus I'd like to see a team that avoids the same stupid mistakes over and over.
Agree… which is a tough thing to ask for a great candidate. The NFL is not for long and no one WANTS to go into a 4 year deal where he knows he likely has to take a mulligan on year 1. By year 3, no one is going to give a crap what happened two years previous if the rebuild is a year behind.

I don’t know the salary difference between coordinator and HC is huge. One 4-5 contract as a HC even if on the lower end and you’re set up for life. With a good chance if it fails you will be regurgitated as a coach in the league in some other position anyway. Is it really that big a risk?

In other words, you want to strip us of our identity. What else would we have to hang on to?

Might as well change our name too. How about the Desert Stingers? I can see it now, 50,000 people dressed in black and yellow all Bzzzzzzing at the same time.

right?? Once you sign the contract that 15mil over the next 5 years is yours. even if you get fired and go back to a 300k coordinator job, you still get 3mil a year until the contract expires.
purely from a financial standpoint.... take any chance to be a HC in the nfl.
other teams, they know if you were working with ****, how you handle it is what gets you another shot later

Uh… yeah. These guys WANT to be successful. To be an NFL coach is beyond rarified… eh, forget it. This is literally too stupid to even discuss.

You’re right your position is kinda silly :) money talks in the end. And of course they WANT to be successful. Coaches have shown that you CAN be successful here.

Come on man. Those would be set by his agent, at the convenience of both parties and in random order. He just ran out of time. Maybe the first 2 ran longer than planned, which is likely.

Absolutely nothing to see here and it's a bit weird some fans are trying to turn it into a comment on the franchise.
Agreed. Also, most coaches think they can fix teams/players that previous coaches couldn’t.

Anyone who doesn’t think the quarter billion dollar question mark hanging over this team isn’t an issue for getting the best coaches/GM candidates in here is fooling themselves.

That injury plus contract plus all of thr self inflicted Kyler wounds over the last 15 months have really put us in a bigger hole than a Bidwill owned team already finds itself because of ownership.

That ACL is Such a killer for this team as they try to rebuild. Just so many question marks and immediately hamstrings whoever comes in here for at least the first year.
I would argue the Bidwill issue is larger than Kyler however it is an issue. Ask any coach if they’d rather have a 25 year old mercurial QB who has shown flashes of greatness but has never put it together or an owner who makes you watch film together weekly and has a front row seat in the draft room and they’d all pick the QB.

And with and the recent 15 months as you mentioned it’s really easy for a coach to win that internal battle over Kyler right now. K1 could be off the roster easy in 2 years, you’d still have your weekly film sessions with Mikey for the rest of your career.

Coaches like to coach, not play school teacher to the trust fund owner.

Except it’s not just “a mercurial QB”. It’s quarter of a billion dollar, injury prone, mercurial QB coming off tearing his ACL. Simply calling Kyler mercurial ignores the other major baggage he brings at this point. Without the ACL wiping out mostly likely most of next season, I think the Kyler question would have intrigued Good candidates. But it’s the repeated injury riddled seasons, topped by an Injury that will already effect next season now beg bigger questions.

it’s not either or… this team presents SERIOUS issues with both Kyler and Bidwill. To pretend that Kyler’s myriad of mental and physical issues arent major reasons to give the best candidates pause when considering us burying your head in the sand.

That can also be a positive if that is truly the case. After all, most teams looking for a new head coach have issues winning for a reason and a little breathing space for a good coach and GM should be appealing

Coaches understand that players come and go however. You’re stuck with your owner forever. Why do you think Sean Payton flat out said publicly it’s not about the QB, it’s about the owner/GM/coach dynamic?

Teams make good hires with worse QB situations than ours is currently every year. It’s almost impossible to find a job with a good QB situation as you know.

Do I need to remind everyone what the QB situations are in Houston, Denver, Indy, and Carolina?

Houston has just fired two well-respected Black head coaches after one year; why would they be willing to invest top dollar at the role when they're still paying off two entire staffs?
Not to mention that they would most likely also have to pay Ryans a fortune to settle the lawsuit he still have going against the Texans from his playing days.
