The problem is that we're already out of it, so we aren't in a position to take advantage of the sudden shakiness around the division.

The Rams have sucked all season, even with Stafford. Jimmy G was already SF's backup QB (even though one could argue he was better than Trey Lance anyways). Seattle and Geno Smith is all smoke and mirrors, definitely not as good as record shows (we should have beat them twice with any competent coaching).

I think that was quietly the plan or optimistically the plan. Let's run 2021 back and see if we can overperform the second half in a shakier division and conference. No need to do too much and overspend when we have Kyler and others to pay/getting paid.

That blew up in their faces. Or... it didn't really. Looking back, the Chiefs loss was demoralizing, but we lost to the Rams at home by 8, the Eagles at home by 3, to Seattle by 10 both times, and the Chargers by one.

Those are close games! Part of the problem is that our schedule really stinks. We could be a good bad team by just putting away some of these clowns. Our schedule to date is 19th in the NFL!
