Hicks is obviously having one of his best seasons - only NFL player with 100+ tackles, at least 4 sacks and 5 pass defenses. Cowherd asked the reason for his good season. Jordan said year 3 in the scheme and knowing the details.

Cowherd asked him for the 2 best attributes of Kliff Kingsbury. He said first and foremost, his confidence, he never doubts himself and that rubs off on the team. Second attribute he named was Kliff's offensive mind-he puts guys in position to succeed.

Before we signed Watt I had reservations about his medicals and unfortunately he has been sidelined, but even with injuries he finds a way to come back in spurts which is not normal for your average human being, though not at the success rate of another freak called Adrian Peterson. I fully believe that we will see JJ in our first playoff game, though I do not think we can expect D-Hop till hopefully we can make the Super Bowl (iffy on both accounts on that scenario haha)... but just having Watt suited up for some minimal contributions will give this defense a charge

That is part of the polarization that we see on the board. We were the worst team in the NFL after the 3 game streak. Now we beat Dallas and we are over the moon.

We (as fans) shouldn't have such a myopic view.

Hicks gets a lot of grief because of the role he is put vs the skill set he has. If Hicks was getting 65% snaps, he wouldn't get exposed as much as he does. This is again another situation where Vance is putting what is best for his system vs what the player does best.

For much of the year people wanted to see Collins in there over Hicks.

Never understood that because Hicks has been pretty good all year and deserving to play.

That is High School level thinking/philosophy. The best defensive systems in the NFL put players in positions to be successful and best utilize their skill set.

Hicks is overmatched in coverage and in space. Putting him in these situations because you can't figure out how to get anyone else able to call a defense is just selfish coaching.
