Good he deserves it. Works hard. Never complains. Took a pay cut and a reputation hit in the off season but kept plugging away.

Haha. A large majority on this board wanted to run him out of town when we drafted Collins. He has been our best LB since we brought him over from Philly

Wasn't Hicks fault he didn't really fit this scheme. He was in a 4-3 in Philly and it's a completely different role than what is required of him in a 3-4. He's a good player, it's just taken him time to adapt to this scheme.
He's still not elite. I think if he was in a 4-3 he's probably a pro bowl level player but he has adapted enough to be considered good.

Hicks is better than average to really good, when it comes to being a linebacker. The only time he gets out over his skis and gets exposed is when Vance seems to think his athletic ability is more than what it is. When schemed properly, Hicks is just fine.

He's a downhill linebacker. He should not be covering anybody or get beyond three to five yards of the line of scrimmage at any point.

Congrats! He earned it! He is easy to criticize because he isn't Fred Warner or Bobby Wagner. But he is a solid but not spectacular linebacker who has stayed healthy. And his teammates respect him enough to vote him a team captain.

Everybody get a hicky ! Woot woot - I disagree with some posters, he does cover in the pass game, he is actually a great play caller, Simmons ain’t yet. knocks the snot out of opponents. If he ain’t elite this week, then what does that say about other NFL defensive players?
Congrats to Hicks and well deserved after last week.
