Snyder is massively hit or miss for me, but that looks like he's exactly in his wheelhouse. I'm in.

The plot of this bothers me. There's been a massive zombie outbreak yet society is still functioning enough that cash is still valuable? Ok. If the team was going after gold, I could see it but raising a casinos vault for dollar bills seems a bit ridiculous.

Deducing from the trailer, it seems as if Las Vegas is walled off from the rest of the world and the world was probably given a BS reason as to why, since the protagonists seemed surprised by the zombies. So it might be (currently) limited to just that area.

Welp... I'm definitely not a Zach Snyder fan, but his best movie by far was Dawn of the Dead, so I might give this one a shot. The cast is fantastic.

that was a fantastic remake.

Incredible movie from the horror to the comedy. Looking at his IMBD timeline I pretty much enjoyed Dawn, 300, Watchmen and Man of Steel.

I just read that the runtime on this is 2 hours and 28 minutes. That gives me a little pause. No zombie/action movie needs to be that long.

Dawn Of The Dead was 1 hour and 40 minutes in comparison. Also, never realized James Gunn wrote Dawn. That explains a lot about the quality of that movie as well.

I fully expect about an hour of awesomeness and an hour of....that was totally pointless. However, this is right up Snyder's ally so maybe we get a more consistent movie this time.

Snyder needs to stop making movies...

Are you making a comment about that is just about Snyder's history or is this your opinion after having seen this movie? Just curious. I haven't seen this one or very much of what Snyder has done (despised 300 and usually avoid superhero movies) but Dave Bautista always draws our interest so we're considering giving it a try.

It was in regards to this movie. Extremely underwhelming, in my opinion. Snyder just keeps getting worse and worse.

Well, that's disappointing. Besides not usually caring for Snyder's work, we've had little interest in zombie movies for a few decades now. Every now and then something like Zombieland will win us over so I was hoping the offbeat story line plus the presence of Bautista might be enough for us.

I thought it peaked in the first five minutes but was entertaining enough after for a solid 6.5/10.

Seems about right, I'm not much for zombie movies but wanted to watch it because of the cast.

Worst part of the movie was the pixel errors, thought my TV was starting to go out but it turns out it's a problem with the movie.

I noticed it a few times but I guess I tuned it out after the first few appearances.

But I'd have to disagree, the worst part about the movie was the movie itself. It wasn't horrible but I didn't feel like I got my money's worth and all I invested in it was time. Bautista was solid as always although they didn't really take advantage of his presence. And to me, Tig Notaro stole the movie even though her scenes were all added in post production.

I'd give it a 6, watchable but not re-watchable despite the cast.

The plot could have been much better if someone took a little time developing it rather than using it as an excuse to string together various action scenes that gave Snyder an excuse to use slow motion mixed with a slowed down cover of a classic song.

I had a hard time moving past the whole heist idea being "sponsored" by a casino owner who was already paid out by insurance. Add in how the whole idea of going after 200 million to give the casino guy 3/4 of it when there was clearly more than 200 mill in the vault made the whole monetary side of the heist questionable. Yes I know the twist to that but that was dumb and unnecessary, adding basically nothing to the story. I really hated that contrived idea to get a team in there. They could have been an after a family heirloom of the casino owners or a former employee could have organized the heist, anything other than what they decided.

This was a big budget B movie except it really seemed to think it was more than that. I'd give 2 out of 5 stars primarily because Omari Hardwick and the German guy were great and so was Tig Notaro.

I thought they could’ve had a lot of fun with this, but didn’t. So neither did I, really.

I don't know if you guys have noticed this about me: I am easily entertained.

I often wonder about the hypercritical amongst us who nitpick the living hell out of a show and I wonder if it's to (over) emphasize their intellectuality.

With the being said, this was TERRIBLE.

I found nothing redeeming about it whatsoever.

Almost everything felt forced. Every attempt at drama, suspense, comedy and even some of the action felt forced. Only some action pieces here and there felt OK, but that's it.

My 15yo son whom I wish someday would forgive me for making him sit in front of this dreck, made an unsolicited comment to his mother: "All this movie does is piss you off."

As Ouchie mentions above, there were certainly many things they could have steered this to to make it more fun, but they always went with the laziest possible route.

And that's how I'd describe this movie: L. A. Z. Y.

Whoever wrote this wrote it in his (Ambien-induced) sleep. And Zack needs to take a break from directing. I don't know if the loss of his daughter curtailed his creativity, and I am deeply sad for him, but man. He needs to step back and take a breath.

That bolded paragraph made me legit laugh out loud.

What I normally enjoy about zombie flicks is how even when they're bad, they're usually so bad they're good. You can find some humor in the nonsensical. This film took itself so seriously that there wasn't any fun to be had. It could have leaned into absurdity but it didn't seem to realize that it was ridiculous from the very start.

Doesn't help that everyone was a cliche and every single thing that happened could have been predicted within the first 5 minutes. Nothing original about this.
