Of all the problems and political situations that need attention, this is what our legislature spends its time debating? I mean I am in favor of it also, but what the heck, isn't their more important things to be concerned about. Since betting is legal now, I would be very willing to make book that the average IQ of all our state legislatures is below 100.

Yup, the politicians are all about the $$$. Waste more time passing legislation to legalize weed and gambling. Meanwhile, I'm sure there are many bills related to the current climate of civil rights and environment that get swept under the rug.

I'm kind of old fashion. I would rather go to Vegas to bet sports. It gave me an excuse to make a trip for March Madness, football, etc...

Tax dollars during a tourism shortfall is something that needs attention. I mean unless you like cuts to public services like transportation, parks, and libraries

Marijuana was legalized through ballet measure, not politicians and assists with helping civil rights anyway due to marijuana incarceration rates plummeting. Your preference of traveling to place bets really has nothing to do with anything but that right has not been removed from you. The gambling work they have done is important for economic benefit and extracting more gambling income from our residents instead of passing it all to nevada.

These are also arizona only bills.

The new law does not mean Arizona’s pro sports teams will be booking bets themselves, however; they, as license holders, will instead sign market access agreements with sports betting operators, who will run the book (see: Sportico’s reports that DraftKings is building out a retail sportsbook at the TPC Scottsdale golf course, while FanDuel will do the same at Talking Stick Resort Arena). Those agreements will also provide access to mobile betting statewide (a first in pro sports), which should generate meaningful revenue for the clubs. Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick said from a value perspective, the deal his team is closing in on (he would not disclose specifics) is comparable to “adding one more high-end corporate partnership, and corporate partners at the high end are definitely paying seven figures a year.” The hope is “over time, as sports betting gets more ingrained into the sport, the revenue stream—and therefore our share—will grow,” he said.

I suppose all that is left after we have legalized smoking, drinking, drugs, gambling, and state executions is to legalize prostitution, gay marriage, and lower the age of sexual consent to 13. Then, I believe AZ will have all the bases covered. The complete flaunting of immorality in the face of our Christian Nation, taking a mere 70 years, all beginning in the '50s with the introduction of Rock & Roll.
