I know he is known as a good recruiter, but this is a great start.

Gonna be a lot less negative recruiting against Arizona. More kids will have confidence committing now

7' 4-star center

247Sports ranks Anderson as the No. 50 overall player in the 2022 class, including the No. 8 center and the No. 2 prospect from Arizona. Anderson is the Wildcats’ first commit of the 2022 class.

Anderson had several offers including one, interestingly, from Gonzaga.

Lloyd was probably the lead recruiter on Anderson so the relationship was already there. Obviously as TJ pointed out he hasn't coached a game yet so he's not Lute Olson but this is a great start.

One of the guys on BRO said that Lloyd recruited him to Gonzaga but they expected to have higher ranked kids including foreign kids so wasn't going to end up at Gonzaga. So this looks like a great deal, the kid goes to a recruiter he's familiar with, and Lloyd is not "poaching" a kid he recruited at Gonzaga because they probably weren't going to take him anyways.

Pretty impressive so soon

Day 1 starter if he commits.

Weird that he's added LSU so late? UK you're used to when guys blow up UK gets involved, but with LSU and the recent history of Wade it just seems odd.

We're being told it was Kansas in the lead and they are denying reports he's looking at playing pro overseas.

Really talented kid though agreed if you get him, instant starter

Big dude. Hope he can play.

Not sure what he can do here this season. He probably needs to develop his game a bit because he's so raw and has been able to get away with just being the largest dude on the floor throughout his time in HS and the Latin Academy. Barely got any run at Gonzaga.

At the same time, you cant teach 6'10" 250lbs+.

Large front court:

Koloko
Tubelis
Ballo
Brown

Basically three centers, unless Brown can develop his game a bit more. However, size wont be an issue like it is for other Pac-12 teams.

Kerr and Terry are returning which is insurance for Akinjo and possibly Mathurin leaving. Tubelis and Brown are back so the frontcourt should be fine. It really comes down to Tyty coming in to have a top-25 team on paper.

Akinjo is gone. Hopefully with him gone, TyTy decides to play for Lloyd. Mathurin is most likely staying. He has not even put his name in the transfer portal. Plus, he has already been practicing with the team with Lloyd running the practice.
