So why was Keim in a rush to sign AJ Green?

Not a huge Juju fan, but a little patience might have served the Cardinals well here.
Cause it looks like JuJu just wanted to go back to Pittsburgh regardless.

Seriously - that's it?

And we paid AJ Green 6 million with 2.5 in incentives.

Keim needs to be fired.

the green signing is truly galling... at a position of desperate need... in a big market surplus of WRs, none of which are breaking banks.

The Green signing stinks but that JuJu example is a bad one

Yup - sounds like he took a discount to stay in Pittsburgh, and that is where he wanted to be all along. This particular signing (lack of signing by AZ) has nothing to do with Keim or AJ Green.
Except for the fact that before FA started, JuJu was pretty vocal on social media about not going back to Pittsburgh.

He supposed to get much more money elsewhere but when he realized the offers were not as good as he hoped he started "to love" Pittsburgh again and signed back with them

JuJu Smith Schuster re-signed by Pittsburgh for the same deal cards gave AJ Green.

Fortunately, everything on social media is completely accurate, especially with future contract negotiations and money at stake.

JuJu himself responded to a poll on whether he would be back with the Steelers - NO.

Means he did not intend on going back - right from the horses mouth.

For not signing someone who didn't want to leave the team he was on & refused better offers elsewhere?:doi:

No - for signing a washed up bum for 4-5 million more than the market dictated first off. Second for intentionally targeting said bum as his number one target.

We would be far better off signing any of Marvin Jones, TY Hilton, JuJu, Corey Davis, Will Fuller, Curtis Samuel - even if it cost 4 million more a year - because they will actually likely produce and get open.

JuJu seems dead-set on wanting to be a 1st option.

He wasn’t gonna get that in KC nor here.

And with the amount of times Baltimore runs the ball, he wasn’t gonna go there either.

I think JuJu was asking other teams for big time money and didn't find any buyers. Now he's taking a one year deal with his old team so that he can get paid big next year.

Dunbar has warts, but I wouldn’t mind the cards pursuing him.
I see some cardinal media accounts saying we have 600K left in cap space. It looks like we are done signing people unless I'm missing something.
