So is our crappy to average offensive line...what is your point?

At this point, the point should be absolutely clear.

Whataboutism is bull-crap!

Wirf is neither here-nor-there when it comes to the Cards.

The point is to be laser focused on is the ACTUAL offensive line we'll field come September.

So, if our line is crappy during the season because of the choices we made, at that point it is relevant to point it out?

Wirfs is 1/5 of the offensive line. He could easily be good and the rest be crap and the line would still look awful. We also have Humphries, who's a fringe pro bowlers. Meanwhile, prior to last season, we lacked athleticism at ILB, and we took the most athletic player in the draft.

There's no reason to ruminate over this pick. Good for Wirfs for being a solid addition for Tampa Bay, but it's ok for both Simmons and Wirfs to be good players

Is it relevant to point this out about the best offense in the NFL:

Niang -- taken in the third round of the 2020 draft -- is the first offensive lineman the Chiefs have drafted above the fourth round since 2015.

Or that the 2nd best offense, Buffalo, has ZERO 1st round picks on their starting OL. They have 3 seconds and 2 fourths starting.

Even the vaunted run blocking OL of Tennessee, #3 offense, has 1 first round starting in Lewan.

So out of the 3 best offenses, yardage-wise, in the league last year, there's a grand total of 2 first round picks starting. Sad thing is, both Fisher and Lewan had season ending injuries this year.

In addition, the Cards have two first-rounders on their line. (Just sayin')

Definitely there are many Pro-Bowler lineman who were drafted late in the draft or even undrafted, same can be said about tigh ends
Its all about scouting, finding the right guys, something has been missed here and as well in Seattle

It's not like protecting your young and undersized QB is important in a tough, defensive division....
I agree. Hey this board is for wild guesses and unsupported opinions. Anything to keep us from talking about that thing that keeps us in our homes and covering our faces. Having strong lines always seems to be a good idea. And a top pick is usually expected to start. On positive note for Simmons is one could see his improvement as the season progressed.
