if Keim goes, its 100% guaranteed that his successor is either Harris or Wilson

btw: no mention of Terry McDonough

i thought he was #2 for a while --- and then he just........ disappeared

There is a strategic element to this as well. The draft compensation that comes with teams hiring minority front office people to GM spots is important. Both of these guys have earned their way to where they are and it is nice to see a requisite title that highlights all that they do. I am sure the salaries increase with the titles, but if it helps them get a promotion somewhere else, it is worth it.

Not sure what happened there. He was getting GM interviews in '17 then kinda just vanished. He was director of Pro personnel but us now just listed as a senior personnel executive.

Quentin Harris has no doubt earned it -- starting as a scout is truly starting at the bottom

AW had a bit of an express ticket...

100%? Wow, that's high confidence. Someone else to control, instead of a real GM?

or your money back!

why 100%?

1. The org has developed both of these guys over multiple years.
2. The Cards org has a long history of giving Black execs opportunities (1)
3. I dont think you promote this year, and next year if there is an opening, pass on them

(1) evidence that real life can defy conventional wisdom if you compare that history to their political giving history

Ha, appreciate the wit, but has anyone anywhere ever seriously considered either for GM jobs? Have either gotten an interview?

Wilson is going to the the GM at some point so long as he can prove his mettle at player acquisition / scouting. You want discipline returned to this team? AW is the guy.

This is the staff Keim relies on for his drafting and free agency that everyone rips him about.
Why would people be happy about this when they bitch about the draft.

Keim doesn’t make draft picks on his own.

FWIW: Quentin Harris was on the pro scouting side for 2013-2018

Its a mediocre franchise badly led by the owner, history speaks
People keeping their job or promoted even if the Cardinals have had bad seasons, bad drafts and bad free agents signings

That would be ridiculous. It would mean we had the same front office structure since 1996 when Bob Ferguson joined. Everyone else has been an internal hire... for 25 freaking years.
