Kenny Gainwell - Memphis opted out of 2020 season but just declared for Draft. Might not be there in the 3rd, but if he is grab him. Might have to take him in the 2nd. Dual threat running and receiving.

Michael Carter - UNC little light in the pants at 5'8 199. Catches and runs. Big numbers. Split snaps with Javonte Williams so neither guy is worn out.

Javonte Williams - UNC the big bruiser who does not go down easy. 5 10 220. 7.9 yds /carry

Chubba Hubbard - Okie State Only plays when he wants to.

got any other 3rd round or later guys.

My guess is Williams is long gone.

Yea, even with Najee & Etienne ahead of him, Javonte ain’t falling all the way to us in the 3rd. Carter will though.

Chuba Hubbard was likely to be a top 50 pick last year before deciding to stay in school.

Yes he had a down year but he only played 7 games and it was a weird, broken year with all the Covid crap.

It's funny, if he had sat out 2020 and had no tape he'd still be considered top 3 in this class.

Chuba would be a steal in the 3rd round.

I read he can't block, basically a turnstile
Don't know if it's just effortless or poor technique
Nowdays a rb must he be an adequate blocker
Thats why Benjamin didn't see the field

It's more of a technique issue than an effort issue. Easily fixable.

This is an issue with many RB's coming out though.

i know the conventional wisdom is to devalue RBs

but, if Najee Harris, or Javonte Williams, or Travis Eitenne is sitting there at #48 -- dont you have to consider taking them?

i think an offseason priority is making K1s life easier going forward.

They need a running game that makes defenses pay for:

1. Forcing K1 to keep the ball on zone reads, and
2. Playing 2 high safeties.

a better o line will help with that, but better RB production will too

Not if Creed Humphrey is still on the board, no.

It all depends on where your roster is at. Our issue is that we lack players and depth at more valuable positions.

IOL is needed to get the most out of a RB. We lack that.

CB is an inherently more valuable position and we have 1.

EDGE is a more valuable position and we currently have huge ? at the position.

WR2 is more valuable as it gets more snaps and we lack one IMO.

Maybe we address these all in FA and get to a spot where we can draft a really good player in round 2 like Indy has, Pittsburgh has, LA has, Baltimore has, Cleveland has but most of those teams have decent lines.

i cant argue with any of the above

but, baked into my premise is that one of the above is addressed in Rd 1

and like RB, it has been shown quality playoff level starters at IOL are available in Rds 3-5

it just comes down to is the RB a difference maker, or, just a productive player

If you get the end of year Trey Sermon, he'd be a great get.
Never have liked Chubba. I like the Memphis kid and Williams from UNC as well.

You could argue the same for Landon Dickerson though he has an injury history to consider.
mid year ACL -- yes? so next year would be a red shirt year for him in all likelihood

fwiw: not sure if anyone saw at the end of the Natl Champ game where Saban put Dickerson in for the final two kneel downs so he would appear in it ---

the way his teammates reacted told me he was highly respected...

Hubbard may be Drake. No thank you unless he falls big time.

Gainwell might be Kamara

Javonte Williams is just a bruiser one cut you don't want to tackle

He's not going 1st round, so...... ( IMHO ).

A J Dillon, similar player, went end of 2nd ( 62 ) to Green Bay
JaVonte has way more wiggle than AJ. Much better receiver too. Disrespectful to Javonte tbh.

I watched him against the Tennessee and he looked very good, didnt get many opportunities(out six weeks with Covid).
He can be a kind of Jamaal Lewis, Brandon Jacobs

Keims history shows he will plug all the holes before the draft... he may not plug them well but he tends to go into the draft with his options open
