Between the Rose Bowl, Collosseum, The Home Depot Center where the Chargers played and the new Rams/Chargers stadium, the NFL could easily do the playoff bubble it in LA.

That's in California though and they'll probably not be able to bubble in it due to the restrictions that are coming down. The 49ers can't practice or play until at least December 21st now due to the restrictions Santa Clara County put in place and are not trying to figure out alternatives. It wouldn't be crazy to see other purple tier counties in CA do the same.

This is beyond asinine. Just like keeping people indoors when evidence shows that being outdoors is safer. There is zero evidence of players spreading COVID on the playing field.

Maybe that’s because they test and hold back people that are positive and those that COULD be positive

Sure that's a big part of it - all the more reason this decree makes no sense.

It's because they are trying to be careful about not making exemptions because they think exemptions lead to lack of compliance.

Shanahan is getting lots of flack now he came out complaining about the suddenness of the decision but this has been coming for weeks and everyone who lives here knew it. They could have made alternate plans but they assumed they'd be exempted, the NFL would say no fans but you can play the games and practice.

SC County has been stricter than most all along, the lady who's the expert here, Dr Sarah Cody, has been getting death threats and other stuff for months due to her stance but we've also done remarkably well at keeping things in check given the population here.

I agree there's no evidence it's spreading via football games or practices but I think the main thing is they don't want to give the appearance of giving out too many exemptions because it's so difficult as it is to get people to comply.

The simple solution is to play the home games on the road because most of the California cities that have NFL size stadiums, are in counties that might have similar restrictions. Right now SC County is more severe but much of the area is going purple and generally speaking SC County does something first and then others follow so it would not be a surprise to see that happen.

This was always one of my issues with the NFL returning, and I love the NFL, but it was just obvious there were going to be issues like what happened to Denver, and that they could get into situations like this one where it's illegal to play a game.

I feel the same way about college hoops, love to see UCLA games again but I don't expect them to get through a season without some games getting changed or cancelled and they're already having to schedule around the curfews.

Here’s where Tuesday’s game stands, per sources:

If all the #Ravens’ COVID-19 tests come back negative this afternoon, the plan is to practice and travel to Pittsburgh tonight.

If any more players or Tier 1 personnel test positive, the game most likely would be postponed again.

If there is an additional positive test(s), the decision on whether the game can proceed Tuesday will depend in part on who it is. Was it someone the NFL medical experts anticipated might test positive? Part of the outbreak or unrelated community spread? All that will factor in.
