Honestly let’s hope they cancel our game and move it. That way they add an 8th team to the playoffs. If they cancel Pittsburgh too. They will do it. And we are guaranteed a playoff spot.

And I say that because I rather get it canceled the. Go In there and lose with half our team gone. Possible Hopkins has it too since Wrs were all together.

i love #11

but really, is 3 catches for 24 yards the diff between winning and losing?

WR's do so much more than that. For example, Larry often chips at the line. You can rely on him to run the exact route he should. If a WR runs the wrong route, or the right route in the wrong place, he's not drawing the defense to where they should be to open up elsewhere. Run blocking obviously. At least twice his smarts got us last second FG's. There's a bunch of stuff we will miss.

Not least of which is the last team you want a body catching player like Isabella up against is the Pats DB's. Those DB's will pluck the ball out of the air while Andy is rocking a baby waiting for it.

Interesting that the Patriots have played 2 straight dual threat QB's and 3 out of the last 4.

What I find most stunning is that if anything it should be the other way around. Your half you have your scripted plays and you should be able to impose your game plan before the other team adjusts.

For me this is an indicator of how bad our coaching and game planning is. Coming into games unprepared and with a plan that doesn't work or that was so transparent the other team are prepared for.

Completely wrong. Game plans are far more random because neither the offense nor defense knows what the other team will do; they know tendencies, sure, but every team has counters and if you don’t know which is coming you’re toast.

What our 2nd half proficiency tells me is that our coaching staff is really good at the one thing coaching CAN do to improve outcomes: making adjustments to known quantities of what a particular opponent is doing well and poorly THAT DAY.

Nonsense. There's only so much defenses can do and it's all out there on tape already. What you are saying is that the Cards have come into every single game except the Jets with a game plan and script that hasn't worked and trying to pass that off as some kind of achievement.

Teams aren't wasting a drive or two of scripted plays working out tendencies. Our scripted plays are supposed to take advantage of the tendencies we have already identified on film. They are supposed to be the cleanest, most practiced plays we have. Designed to get us into a rhythm and get points on the board.

The poor starts show a lack of preparation and understanding.

Say Larry Fitzgerald retired last year and his replacement was a guy named Bob Smith and gave you the exact same production Larry is giving you anyone here claiming he’s so valuable

nope

1. “there’s only so much defenses can do” is a comment mired in massive ignorance. There are thousands of variations of defensive formations and alignments, blitz shows and coverage drops, zone coverage facades and robber rolls. You don’t know what you don’t know.

2. it’s not “an achievement” for coaches if their teams start slow, just as it isn’t for coaches whose teams start fast—that obviously followed from my post so you’re willfully misreading it or just don’t understand (again).

3. of course every team scripts plays they think will work; the point is that day specific information in a sport with massive injuries and fluctuating performance accrues massively in importance over priors after several drives.

Seriously dude....... Having Fitz in the locker room, and on the field has immeasurable value. Regardless of whether or not he ever catches a pass again.

We will soon find out the quantity of this “immeasurable value”.

Early east coast road game vs. a coach and QB who’ve had little trouble with Cards in their careers. A depleted defense as well. Pats likely win this game 23-16. Fits does a ton of things on the field that do not show up on the stat sheet, big loss IMO. Pats young RB has a running style made to beat this team.

We haven't gone under 21pts in any games this season. The Patriots are not the defense to be changing that stat this weekend.

So what you are saying is that the Pats, in the same season with the same coaches and personnel, are going to do something completely different against us than they did vs Watson / Fuller or Wilson / Metcalf?

You really think teams have multiple "best ways" to stop a mobile QB and a top WR?

The Texans game was a great warm up for them and at the same time Seattle gave BB the blueprint to stop our offense. If Kliff isn't expecting something very similar he's in the wrong job.

I think Fitz is a huge loss. Fitz was our leading receiver last week because the Seahawks schemed to take away throws outside the numbers where Kyler likes to go. The Pats will do the same with better DBs.

We needed a reliable slot and that's gone.

And when Isabella has 3 catches for 20 yards can we put the "Andy will come good. He just needs more snaps" myth to bed?

When I expect a win (Lions, Panthers, Miami) we lose. So it's safest to expect a loss then I can't be disappointed.

Warm up? lol. So what the hell was them against Seattle & Buffalo then? Unless another typhoon comes & helps like it did against Baltimore.

We have great playmakers on offense and unfortunately have a head coach that says after every loss “I have to call better plays.”
Offense always starts out with a horizontal attack with 3 yd gains then in second half goes vertical to catch up. Defense starts out stopping no one then plays hard and smart(blitzes, etc) in second half to get us back into the game.
KK is the problem.
After this season when we all reflect back on it we will be grateful how we have improved as a team but realize we are handcuffed with KK.
At least I hope so as he will NOT ever take any team deep in the playoffs.
