Ketel Marte goes to the 10-day injured list with left wrist inflammation. Diamondbacks recall infielder/outfielder Josh VanMeter, who was acquired in the Archie Bradley trade. The club also swapped out reliever Joe Mantiply for reliever Joel Payamps.

Sure enough, the moment Marte gets shifted between 2B and CF, he gets hurt.

Hmmm...

I hate to have to say . . . we told them so! This took, what, a week?

How soon before that happens to Varsho?

Starting at four positions in the short time he's been here. CF, C, LF
and, yes, DH.

Sitting on the bench to come up 3 or 4 times in the game puts a
different strain on your body than being active in the field -- but
not at three positions.

Torey Lovullo is a former player. He should know what it does to
a player.

I used to play 2B and RF. Thankfully, I wasn't switched back and forth more often than every 7-10 days. It took a special routine to ready myself for each position in the field. The difference between CF, which requires more range, and 2B is even greater.

Heck, when I played tennis, the preparation was different between my groundstroker matches and my serve-and-volley matches.

Simple sports physiology, and management is completely disregarding it...
