Mavericks @ Suns Thursday game thread 8-13-20 (season restart)

This could be the season finale for the Suns on Thursday unless they qualify for the play-in.

So cross your fingers or pull out something lucky as some things need to go right for the Suns.

I wanted to get the thread up especially early so fans can comment on the game.

Mavericks (43-31) are 3-4 in Orlando but the game that really hurts was their 134-131 loss to Portland on Tuesday.

Suns (33-39) are 7-0 in the bubble and beat the 76ers 130-117 in their last outing.

Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. Arizona time.

It will be televised nationally on TNT.

Whether the blazers or griz cooperate I want that 8-0. Would be terrific to squeeze into the elimination game(s), but running the bubble would be a great launch into next season (which won’t be too far away, so perhaps momentum can help!).

The experience and know now of what they're capable of, especially the Boston and Clippers games, should only boost their confidence.

That is so true! Every ballplayer's goal should always be, "Win our next game."

The Coach (Manager) and his staff should be the ones to look ahead.

I want 8-0. I don't care who's not playing for dallas or if we get into the play-in (I mean, of course I would be ELATED). I just want them to finish strong, turn some heads and really feel like they've taken a good step forward in the building process. I mean, even if they lose, they have. But it would be great to cap this with a W.

Luka was not listed on the last injury update I read. So unless something changes, I think he is playing.

Dang.... hoping that Portland loss wore mavs down

That Portland win still pisses me off so many breaks for them vs mavs the high bounce 3 the stupid chatge by the stupid mavs player

But lillard would have probably hit a 3 to win it anyway.

Lillard missing two free throws and a 3 pointer at the buzzer in the Trail Blazers loss to the Clippers is likely the only gift the the Suns are going to get from Portland.

Looks like the Suns aren't going to get much help for their play-in chances.
