And Torey has now put the "Cron" curse on Varsho -- one game to prove himself, then bench him.
He could have easily made him DH tonight instead of Jon Jay. And, for at least, the next week.

No pressure, kid! Just hit like a Major Leaguer in your very first game, or you'll be benched.
On a team that is the second worst run-producing team in baseball.

And putting the "Ketel" curse on him. Switch him between positions (in his very first game).

'Way to build confidence, Torey! Lovullo is oblivious to the laws of effective management.

Or, like the occupant of the White Houise, he is psychotic! Each day is a new beginning. He
can't figure in what he did (or said) yesterday . . . and he can't plan for tomorrow. Except
for his planning weeks in advance to rest starters on a certain day, no matter what.

Torey Lovullo's M.O. has led this team to complete failure. If only Sarver had the intelligence,
or Hazen had the guts, to do what needs to be done. Now! And make our Bench Coach the
Interim Manager for however long this "season" lasts.

Only ten pitches in the 1st by Robbie, stranding the double on 2B.

Just as the hitters need to stop trying for a HR on every pitch,
Robbie needs to stop trying to strike out every hitter, which runs
up his pitch count.

The one year Torey had success, Ron Gardenhire, an established quality MLB manager, was his bench coach. Wouldn't surprise me if it turned out Gardenhire was performing most of the management functions, Torey didn't like that, and that is why Gardenhire didn't stick around...

HERE WE GO AGAIN, AGAIN!

A double and an RBI to start the 2nd, then a 2-run HR.

And the D-backs, just as yesterday, are down by 3 in the 2nd.
And we know how that turned out.

OK, when is Torey going to replace 2/3 of the lineup tonight?

Maybe we should just bring up the whole Reno Aces AAA roster.
Including their Manager. A guy named Cron. :)

Well, we are certain to be 10 games below .500 and still without an offense by the end of the week. I don't think Hazen has any choice but to fire Torey Lovullo at this point.

The D-backs first six outs have been ground balls.

So they're going from popups to ground balls.

Hey, guys, how about trying line drives?!?

Into the gaps in left-center or right-center
or over the infielders' heads.

Or hit it against the shift. Take what they give you.

A single and a double, or a double and a single,
scores a run and puts a runner on base for the
next batter.

The D-backs are just not playing team baseball.

Hell, if a fan sees that, why don't they?

Compared to other major sports, baseball is an
individual game . . . played within a team concept.

Or, at least, it should be.

This team is starting to resemble the Al Pedrique team that lost 111 games.

A solo HR with one out in the 4th.

Do I need to say which team? :(

A 2-run inside-the-park HR for Calhoun. The ball hit the wall and bounced around.

4-2. And Starling gets a bunt hit on the next AB.

A breath of fresh air. Way to go, D-backs!

We're still down by two. 'Need to keep being creative!

A ground rule double for Walker and the tying runs are on 2nd and 3rd with no one out.

Escobar is hit to load the bases. The first 5 up in the inning have gotten on base.

Is Torey letting Bench Coach Luis Urueta call the shots? :)
