From Jay Glazer's mailbag in the Athletic:

Which non-quarterback rookie are you most excited to watch this year? — Drew D.

Isaiah Simmons with the Cardinals. He was the No. 1-rated safety on everyone’s board and the No. 1-rated linebacker on everyone’s board. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they use him in Arizona. He is a freak. I don’t really know who to compare him to. They were saying Tyrann Mathieu, but he’s bigger than Mathieu. He’s almost like Mathieu and Brian Urlacher combined. When Urlacher came out of college, he had been returning punts and kickoffs and played safety and linebacker. Urlacher is bigger than Simmons, so I’d say Simmons is a combination of those guys. There’s potentially a lot the Cardinals can do with him. He gains so much ground. I love him as a player. I love the prospect.

As soon as we drafted him, I called my 'playoffs' shot. I am usually pretty down on the Cards year after year for good cause. I have quite a bit of optimism about how this team is trending.

What a difference a year makes, wow.
