How do you like the phillips signing now? I would much rather pay Suh 10 mil wouldn't you?
Also.... from the Phillips thread:

Jondan Philips also structured differently. Also has a ghost 4th year.

4 years, $40M, $18.5M gtd, $8M signing bonus, salaries $2M (gtd), $10M ($8.5M gtd for inj at signing, $4.5M skill, cap at signing, another $4M gtd for skill, cap if on roster 5th day '21; $10M, $10M, $10M; '23 voids if on roster 5th day after '22 SBowl

Cap hit this year only 4m. 12m each of the next 2 years. 2m dead cap in the 4th ghost year.

Earliest can get out is year 3 with a 4m dead cap hit.

Ok, so essentially it is a 2 year 16 million dollar deal with a 4 million dead cap if cut after year two...

That is A LOT more reasonable than 3/30...

Yes, a 12 million cap hit next year hurts, but assuming the cap does increase to the 250 range starting next year that will mitigate some of the damage...

This biggest concern is if he performs so poorly year one that he becomes an anchor year 2, but our exposure is limited even in the worst case scenario

I am sure we wanted to keep Kerr but this is his replacement.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com predicted that he would go undrafted, stating "While he's got decent play strength, solid hand usage and the desired motor, his smallish stature will be tough to overlook for teams during the draft. With that said, he's a good football player and will get his shot in a camp."[7]

Free agent CB EJ Gaines has agreed to a 1-year deal with the #Bills, source said. A good player when healthy and a solid history with the team — starting 11 games in 2017. Should challenge for a starting spot at CB, either outside or nickel.

Interesting. It does change some of the narrative about drafting an RB.

I like Foster enough (probably because I'm an ASU homer), but I really don't like our RB room.

Then you must really like Brandon Aiyuk and Eno Benajamin as prospects. Maybe they go 3rd and 4th rounds respectively?

That’s another he played great in the senior bowl special in reddick. I remember keim saying he had him much higher on the draft board like 3 or 4. We should demand that we outsource drafting to a company.

Jaguars, Dennard part ways after agreeing to 3-year contract

https://sports.yahoo.com/jaguars-dennard-part-ways-agreeing-3-contract-204306229--nfl.html

The Jaguars said Thursday ''the two sides could not come to an agreement on the final contract terms.''

Dennard agreed to the deal March 17, the night before the official start of the new league year. The contract included $6 million guaranteed.

But it never got signed, and the Jaguars decided to move in a different direction. They agreed to terms Tuesday with journeyman cornerback Rashaan Melvin on a one-year contract worth $2.25 million.

Details on the deal that DL Michael Brockers will sign with the #Rams: 3 years, $24M base value with a max value of $31.5M, sources say. In the incentive package, $4.5M is based on playing time and he should earn it if he stays healthy. He hasn’t missed a game since 2017.

Sources: Former #Rams K Greg Zuerlein is headed to the #Cowboys, rejoining special teams coach John Fassel. Zuerlein gets a three-year deal with a base value of $7.5 million.

This is going to weaken the Rams somewhat. Greg the Leg was a good weapon on special teams. Not sure how he did last year though. Definitely had one of the strongest legs in the league.
