great run here by BA

but its hard to have a HC who is year to year, and you dont really know when his time is done

had Bowles still been here, it would have been workable as you have the obvious successor

His schtick wore old

Agreed.

Love the dude, but there were times that the team was losing because of him and his assistants.

He is very much in the camp of "the system works" and doesn't like to adjust his playcalling for the QB who is playing. His last season, it took him a few weeks to adjust when Palmer went down.

BA is very readable, we already knew when he would call a run and when he passed or try to go deep. Now he has winston that can move and isn't the statue that CP3 was but gosh ... the Seachickens played really bad D and BA and Bowles still didn't get the win. This season, BA is worse than KK and we will have the match up in week 10. We will see how that will end, but all in all, TB should have a better record coming in than us.

The thing about BA's system is that it's easily read but still beats you when you have the horses to run it. Palmer when he had healthy weapons showed us that time and again. But Winston isn't smart enough to do it and takes even more dumb chances than Palmer did and is almost exclusively the reason why their record is so bad. BA wont ever admit it because he went there to run it with Winston because he's been a Winston fan boy almost as long as he has been an Amos Jones fanboy. Once again his loyalty and stubborn beliefs are getting him in trouble.

Should they though? They haven’t played Atlanta or Cincinnati.

You’re crazy.

Them having one less win than us should speak more about Arians, Bowles, & the rest of that coaching staff compared to a rookie HC & Vance Joseph & ours. Especially with their skill players + front 4 on defense.
You're 100% spot on my friend. Well said.

Some talking heads this morning were on this topic. How badly BA wants to beat the Cardinals after he was unceremoniously shown the door out, and had to endure a season in the CBS booth. (He couldn't coach another team since he had a year left on his AZ contract).

His misguided loyalties (Butler, Amos Jones, etc) did him in.

Doesn't change the fact that his QB has an IQ of 3.

He went 49-30-1 as the head coach for the AZ Cardinals. Him and his staff coached up Blaine Gabbert to a .500 record. The consensus on this board is that he was holding the team back because of his loyalty to his staff and the rumors are that the front office asked him to make changes to his staff or else. The same front office for the AZ Cardinals who guided the team to a .425 winning percentage since 1994.

I think he's a good football coach.

Shown the door?

He retired. And the front Office argued that Wilks should keep several of the former staff.

The last two years we have had mike McCoy and Vance Joseph. They are just as bad only their units saw the field much more than Amos’ did.

Right? He was so emotional and claimed he was leaving to be with his wife and grown son. Allegedly, he was shocked when his wife told him their son was turning 40. He said he felt like the years had flown by while he was busy working and he needed to put his family first, etc. So, you're telling us that was just a bunch of coach-speak hogwash?

BA wanted nothing to do with a rebuild and rookie QB...this is why he chose Tampa Bay over Cleveland, IMO.

azcardsfan, I know how you feel. I miss Vince Lombardi, fun to listen to, and he reminded me of the time I was young.

He wouldn't fire Amos Jones and kept Drew Butler so he was "asked" to retire.

BTW, Bach - going to be headed your way this coming June. Gonna message you for some travel tips :)
