I would lower the cost of beer at the stadium and randomly insert porn onto the big screens during the game.

people might say, “hey! jefftheshark! Won’t that distract fans away from the action on the field?” But I wouldn’t care because duh, cheap beer and free porn is way more enticing than being in the first year of another five year rebuilding project.

JTS
they could even play fan porn when we have a prime time game...get people to submit entries

Fire SK! The reality is this will not happen. Another win or two will save him. He will point to the injuries at RB and WR as reasons for the season's short givings. MB will give him another year unless he gets another DUI.
I would field offers for PP but only after the season is over. There is no sense in trading him now and at this point no one is probably offering.
It's time for Fitz to hang them up. You want to start a youth movement, then you have to clear out the old. You certainly cannot keep paying him $10+ million every year.
The WR room is a mess. After adding 3 last draft with what I would guess had a fair amount of KK influence we are now seeing none of them contributing to the offense. This blame goes squarely on SK and KK. A second round pick should be getting on the field and not just on special teams at this point in the season.
Suggs is another that should be sent packing for the same reason as Fitz.
Oline and Dline should be the focus of the draft and trades. What good does drafting a WR first do for your QB if you can't protect him?
Find a true free safety somewhere. Enough of playing a strong safety at this spot.
Finally make KK be a real HC. We all know right now that KK is an offensive coordinator and offensive HC and Joseph is the DC and defensive head coach. Odds are KK gives minimum input to the defense and Joseph is making most of the decisions on the defensive side. I think right now there is two quasi head coaches.

He's gotten us a stadium, super bowl hosts, a played super bowl and an nfc championship in what...15 years? I'm not going to hate on him one bit.

That's all true, but it doesn't change the fact that it all starts at the top and he's at the top of what has largely been a losing franchise for a long time.

Fitz needs to hang them up? He's the only functional part of the offense. Again.

They need to focus on the lines up front on both sides of the ball. OL & DL need to be priority.
And in saying that, they need to get rid of Keim. I have no trust in his evaluation at those two positions. Especially in the draft.

Fire the GM.

Hire Ed Dodds as the GM, and let him decide if he wants to keep anyone in the scouting department currently, and gut the rest.

Only thing required from Ed Dodds by me, is any "small school" prospects have to be OK'd by me until further notice.

Talk to the GM behind closed doors about Kingsbury and whether his "new offense" is any different than the offense the Patriots try to run.

If it is determined that the only thing that Kingsbury's offense is molding into is a type of modern run and shoot with two TEs instead of 4 WRs then have a discussion on whether Kingsbury's ingenuity is worth his inexperience. The goal is making sure we are not going past the point of diminishing returns with this mantra of trying to be ahead of the curve.

Then,

1. Are the Cardinals going to be an offensive team or defensive team?

2. Fix the trenches of the side of the ball that will be determined to be our strength.

2a. If offense
- Sure up the offensive line
- Find a recieving threat on the outside
- Make it a point to concentrate on the tight end position that will need to be dynamic.

2b. If defense
- Keep to the 3-4, and stay with the 3-4.
- Increase depth at pass rusher
- Sure up the secondary
- Invest mid round picks at ILBer

Man that’s a lot of our capital at the wr position when we literally just drafted three of them. I know it’s a weakness, but that might be too much as it requires our 1st round pick and likely other pick(s) for Anderson. If we spent 5-6 draft picks on we in back-to-back years it means we are missing out filling other slots of need.
Agreed.

But the pile of empty beer cans we call a GM, seems to need 2 years of drafting at the same position to find talent.

We threw a massive amount of capital at the QB position over the last two years, so why not WR?

Especially when you have the current "talent" on the roster.

I am sure Byrd and Sheffield won't be dire losses if replaced.

.........Fitzgerald, Kirk, Byrd and Sheffield are currently our WRs.........that is simply not good enough

We need;
1. A nose tackle/DT or two
2. A replacement for Suggs
3. A MLB who can cover
4. A Vet Safety who is big enough and fast enough to cover a TE
5. A badass Olinemen or two
6. A number 1 WR
7. RB Depth

In other words "Not Much"
How we get them between FA and draft is anyone's guess - we will have some cap space to play with.
Who we extend and for how much will also be a factor. I assume we resign Larry.

C'mon guys, WR need 1-3 years to be on NFL level. Yes none of our WR gets Meatcleaf numbers, but gosh... just stop it.

We are finding out how our O can work in the NFL and how we have to adept it so that it can work and we will see them sooner or later get integrated.

What really has to happen:

  • we need a better ILB one that is good to great probably #1 or #2 rounder
  • we need a RT #2 or #3 rounder or FA
  • we need a C or better one of the young center has to finally beat out AQ if none can #3 or #4 rounder again
  • we maybe need a #1 WR #1 or #2 rounder or FA if KJ isn't the guy he showed glimpses that he could but ... only KK knows
  • we need a better FS #2 or #3 rounder
  • we need a better SS #3 or #4 rounder
  • we need an OLB that is more productive than Suggs #2 or #3 rounder or FA
  • we need a great LG #1 or #2 rounder or FA
  • we need to at least retain Hump or a better LT FA or #1
  • we need a real disruptive DE #1 or #2 rounder or FA
  • we need a RG that is way better that what we have #3 or #4 rounder or FA
  • we need a average to above average DE on the other side #2 to #4 rounder or FA
  • we need probably a better run Stuffing NT that eats up 2 guys on some plays and CP is getting old so #2 -#6 on a NT would be good maybe you get something in FA
So basically we need 12 guys, maybe you find a diamond in the rough in the 5-7th round 4-5 players can be added through FA, Hump you retain because, I don't think there are that much better FA out there next year and you hope that the C we drafted is beating AQ out. But still 10 guys so 5-6 picks you have to nail and at least 3-4 will be #1 or #2 rounders

I wouldn't trade PP you will get at worst a #4 rounder if he leaves in FA but till than you have a #1 CB on one side of the ball and you could approach the BillB style of 3-4 D were the #1 covers there #2 WR and your #2 CB gets help over the top so you double there #1 WR in this stage I think with a good Slot CB you may be up to something but yeah that is up to the new DC that has to come after you fire VJ because of too much ultra soft zone were only the Browns play as much as we play.

So hiring a good 3-4 DC would be mandatory to be in shape to win games in the next 2-3 years as well.

I don’t fire Keim as long as as KK and KM are developing, and they are. I mean all the cardinal eggs are in that basket and can you bring in another GM and philosophy at this point? Stay the course...... till it’s time to evaluate the situation again.

That said no run no win, just like say the entire history of earth- of all RB going to do is block for pass game- then put in a tight end as blocker back - quit acting like the fool defenses are not, 200 lb rb blocking 300 lb DL is going to break down early and often, no matter how much illusion you build in the playbook - Bosas gonna eat Thursday - like taking candy from a baby.

Can not ask KM and O-Line to out perform nfl defenses every down - one dimensional - forget about the run and just play pass rush and pass defense. Words still out on our stable of wrs - ain’t had a fair chance to develop in an NFL offense - freaking crisis every play - i think they could all be #2s on other teams - which is good for cards -

I’m looking at bill davis and Clancy Pendergast defense from cards past - this is what VJ looks to be trying to develop, at one point on the SB playoff run he played nose tackles to stop the run - but that 4-3 of Wilks and purge of the roster late last season - spun our ducks. Gotta stop the run - fundemtally starved football team - tighten up and concentrate on the fundamentals and we can compete now and are developing - right now the bleeding never stops - every time we start to heal - we rip the scab of of it

I'll post mine sometime today. I wanted to have a thread where I could see what people thought and not have it turn into a thread where people assume I baselessly hate the team/GM/coach/QB/logo/whatever.

But dumping a bunch of assets for a safety is just fine?

(I'm just prodding you from the other thread, haha.)
What do you consider a bunch of assets? A couple 5th round picks and a 2nd round pick is what we currently have. Signing one high level player to me coupled with our current asset allocation is not "a bunch".

Could you elaborate on this for me?
The consistent dead money which prohibits solid roster moves.

Consistently incapable in filling holes...(three picks and 16.6 mil dedicated to the WR position) - the offensive line

Consistent free agent signing busts.

Consistent failure to land players in the first round of drafts.

Failure to hold onto talented players that we have acquired (Tony Jefferson, Calais Campbell, Tyrann Mathieu, Markus Golden, Alex Okafor, Bobby Massie, Lorenzo Alexander)

Poor relationships with players who have left the organization.

You can't preach accountability as an organization and continually apologize for the individual responsible for acquiring and retaining talent when you have a roster that is lacking talent.

I may have read your original post a little too quickly, since you did call out that it's hard to argue against Scherff.

The point I was trying to make is that being worried about getting young players to home grow at the OL position is functionally impossible if you were giving up assets for Jamal Adams, where we have a bit lesser of a need. Especially in the case where Adams costs 2 1sts and 2 2nds.

This coach and this GM are tied at the hip for at least another year. Those thinking that either are getting fired are going to have a long off season

Cut your losses and rid yourself of kingsbury. His offense is rotten and DCs have little trouble figuring out how to stop a defense predicated on underneath, dump off passing.
He runs a high school offense.

The offense is fine.

The Cardinals offense is significantly better this year compared to last years offense.

The issue is that there isnt a single WR that can consistently get open and make big plays down the field.

You would be right if the Cardinals had that.

How has Dwayne Trashcans looked?

1. FIRE KEIM. He has had his moments, but his misses have clearly been much greater than his hits. What sucks more is that he has let lots of good veterans leave over the years.

2. Hire from outside the organization. Keim has been such a huge voice over the years and has developed alot of the guys underneath him. Clean house. Bring in fresh voices.

The good news is that the Cardinals arent as far off as some on here think. A really good WR and a solid RT would do wonders for this team's offense. I think the defense needs a TE/RB match up guy, an ILB, a DE, and another pass rusher. QB, RB, TE, OG, CB are all pretty strong. WR has #2 and #3s.

I'd rank needs:

1) #1 WR
2) RT
3) ILB
4) S

Corey Peters is routinely destroying who ever he faces. I'm puzzled why you would think the Cardinals need a NT when he is probably the best NT they've bad since they moved to the 3-4.

Outside of that comment....RB depth? I mean, I guess they could do better at 3rd/4th RB, but RB1 and RB2 are pretty good.

The offensive line isn't terrible, but a RT is needed. Justin Murray had been ok against bad teams, but he was exposed by Cameron Jordan.

I’d put OLB after ILB or at least equal to RT, tbh.

Curious. For those who want to a new GM. Where, in your estimation, would Keim rank in the current list of 32 GM's?
