Saturday the Suns play the Trail Blazers at Portland.

It's a 5 p.m. Arizona time game and it will be televised on NBA TV.

Both teams are 1-1 in the preseason.

Portland seems to have the Suns number. I don't know what it is but for the last 3 years or so they've been able to handle the Suns, preseason included. I hope they look good but I don't think they'll win.

I see Whiteside, Lillard and McCollum rested against Haifa. The Suns probably see them tonight.

The Trail Blazers are a tough match-up for the Suns. They can pound it inside and shoot the ball outside. Wait until they get Nurkic back.

I'm okay with the .5 offense but when the Suns played well last season they played good defense.

I so wish the Suns were putting more focus there.

I was thinking that, then it occured to me this is a whole differenty Suns team. Plus we are running a different scheme than Igor. So we can't expect to beat up on teams we did beat before, nor should we necessarily lose to the ones that beat us up.

Also, I hope over the course of the season that Baynes has more influence than Saric on Ayton. Although Ayton should be playing more with Saric. We need Ayton to be more of a bully. There's no fear when teams play the Suns. Maybe a little now that Baynes is here.

What? What are the 10 days after the preseason for?

I hope Monty has a good handle on the team because they did not look ready to play against the Kings.

Maybe rest is more important for these players right now.

Who starts at point should be interesting. Have had the feeling they see Tyler as more of a 2 but this is the type of situation you'd start him at the 1. Would bode well for Jerome as the backup if it's him Bridges-Oubre-Cam minutes would be fun. This would be the time to do it.

Preseason is a sham, they, just like the NFL, should get rid of it. Baseball is the only major sport that has a useful preseason.

Oubre gets the ball in transition and his last thought appears to be to pass the ball... he only really gives it up when he has dribbled himself into a problem and then passes to a teammate who inherits the issue.

Monty needs to get on his ass, sit him if he keeps playing like this, he is a rhythm killer.

Cam Johnson looks solid. His jumper is silky smooth. I hope his teammates start to look for him often.
