Another up and coming to add to the first base log jam. Can he play corner outfield?
Cron plays 1B and 3B. I'll bet he can play corner outfielder.

What his bat has shown when given the chance regularly
in the Minors could really help the D-backs, especially with
Peralta out again and/or if he gets traded.

I can't help but wonder if there is something going on
behind the scenes with Cron that we don't know about,
and why he wasn't given a fair shot when Lamb was out.

On second thought, history has proven why. Lovullo
protects his favorites, even to the detriment of the team.

I hate to :deadhorse: but we really need a strong power
bat in the heart of the lineup better than Lamb and Walker.

Speaking of beating a dead horse...I hope Cron does well in Texas, but his last stint up he looked lost.

Sitting on the bench each week, getting one start and
sporadic pinch hitting spots to prove himself indeed
makes a player look lost.

Imagine the pressure on a Minor League player who
has proven that he can slug the hell out of the ball
when given regular playing time.

He had one chance at a time to adjust to Major
League pitching. Torey doomed him from the start,
more concerned with protecting his favorites.

Yeah, Tomas is raking, raking in 15.5 mil this year and 17 mil next year. He is making more than twice as much as any DBack except Greinke.

What you need to know about Seth Beer.
Beer was taken by the ‘Stros 28th overall in 2018.

Beer was currently a member of Houston’s AA team, the Corpus Christi Hooks. In 63 games this year with the Hooks, he had 16 homers and 52 RBIs.

For Beer, it could mean a quicker trip to the league. On the downside, not being on an AL club means he needs to prove himself as an outfielder or first baseman, and not a DH as he could do in the Astros organization. However, if he could do that, jumping up in the Diamondbacks organization may not be that challenging. Given the D’Backs currently being 16.5 games back in the NL West, you’d have to imagine unless a drastic change happens, Beer might get a shot during late season call ups.

Whoever is in charge of the Dodgers drafting and farm system should be given a permanent position, its amazing how many good players they bring up through their pipeline, they don't even need to spend money despite having unlimited funds.
