Ray seems like the type that NY would chew up and spit out in short order.

If Diamondbacks sell, Robbie Ray is their prize trade chip
On Friday night in St. Louis, left-hander Robbie Ray threw strikes, missed bats, worked deep into the game and limited damage. He did all the things that make him a valuable member of the Diamondbacks rotation – and all the things that make him arguably the most attractive starting pitcher that could be available at the trade deadline.

The Diamondbacks, of course, haven’t publicly signaled whether they will buy or sell at the deadline, instead indicating that they will determine that based on how the club performs over the next two weeks.

But if they sell, rival evaluators say Ray ranks among the best pitchers potentially available, alongside Giants lefty Madison Bumgarner, Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman and Mets right-hander Zack Wheeler.

Yankees —aka the Savages — would still like 1 starter and 1-2 relievers. They are high on Bauer, Ray and Syndergaard (who’s unlikely to be traded, especially to them). MadBum (moving up on all lists) and Stroman are also of interest.

But the Yankees won’t be the only team calling the Diamondbacks, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

According to major-league sources, Milwaukee is among the teams interested in one of the better starting pitchers available, Diamondbacks lefty Robbie Ray. Such a move would not be without logic. For all their troubles, the Brewers are just two games back in both the NL Central and wild-card races. Two of their better players, infielder Mike Moustakas and catcher Yasmani Grandal, are free agents at the end of the season. And right fielder Christian Yelich is an MVP candidate in his prime.

If the Dbacks give up Ray just for Frazier, I will be highly pissed. Would rather keep Ray in that case. Dbacks are still going to need starters next year, and Ray is still on a good financial deal.

Don't trade unless you fleece the other team.
